My 2 cents.

AJ is very talented but the system and talent around him hurt his credibility. He sat behind the best oline and played pitch and catch to wide open wr's often up by a large score. How will he do in the pros when under pressure and the pocket collapsing around him? Can he bring a team from behind? Can he run a 2 minute offense? These are things we don't really know because he rarely had to do it in college. You could argue that Bama would still have won those titles with a number of different qb's behind that oline run game and defense.

I think he be fine in the pros. He's a better physical prospect than McElroy

People want to say the guy was a game manager, but I'd love a game manager to give me two straight 2900+ yard 28+TD seasons. Completing 67% of his passes at a great 9.2 ypa avg over 2 years.

That whole offense was dominant last year. Nearly 3200 from the run, 3050 from the pass with 31 pass TDs to just 3 ints. Then this year with over 3200 pass 32/7 TD/INT and over 2650 rush.

I want that kind of game manager production. Sure he had a dominant OL (so did Manziel), sure he had a dominant run game (so did Mariota). Without his defense, his numbers would have been higher.

I think it has something to do with DeeDee embracing Forrest's momma's method of making sure her son gets a head in life.

Lulz at anyone hinting that our oline was elite last year. I could see 2012, but 2013 oline consistently folded under pressure. AJ and our rbs often had to make something out of nothing behind that pedestrian line.

I think it is 50/50 system vs AJ's talent. AJ struggled some with the deep ball, but he clearly has above average talent. He showed against LSU in 2012 and ATM in 2013 that he can lead his team from behind.

It's not like he was complete garbage

Most of those throws were around the line of scrimmage, not downfield.

VS everyone but VT and Oklahoma they were still one of the SEC's best.

He'll be a great baseball cap and clipboard model.
Maybe the Jets will take him to replace their former shama clipboard holder.

NFL scouts drool over potential not college stats. Luck would have been a top 3 pick if he played at North Texas.

At first blush, as I have never really kept up with any of bama's QB stats, it seems they run into the same "issues" that Fla's QB's used to do: great college stats and almost literally no success at the pro level. And this is going back way before the Tebow yrs. The Old Ball Coach, with all his success and yards piled up on offense, never really had a successful pro ball QB. Bama's had Joe Wille & Stabler but that was yrs and many coaches ago.
