Any of you think that if Andrew Luck was in Saban's system that he would have been as highly touted as he was??

Yes

NFL GM's and scouts were drooling over that guy..

As they should have. Really good QB (and better runner than I had thought) running an NFL-offense under Harbaugh was big.

He struggles under pressure no more than anyone else who played CFB in 2013.

Don't compare AJ to luck. He isn't the same type of talent.

However it is fair to say that he's the most NFL ready QB since Luck IN TERMS OF intangibles such as leadership and football IQ.

You can't be serious with saying that he's the most NFL ready since Luck.

You guys said McElroy had a great football IQ. He had an average football IQ, at best.

I don't think there were any great QBs this year.

yes, b/c Luck doesn't turn into a jar of jelly when the o-line breaks down the way AJ does.

Andrew Luck was in a very conservative system at Stanford. Also, he had less talent around him. He was just better... In every way.

You kind of unintentionally made a point against McCarron there.

That was not my intent.. I was just curious if anyone felt that CNS has a tendency to be too conservative and not let his QB really showcase his abilities.... Not a knock on AJ at all..

He had pretty good IQ, just not a very good arm.

He clearly struggles under pressure, but when his all 5 star o-line was blocking he could go for 300+ easily.

His stats, the 2014 Sugar Bowl notwithstanding, do not bear this out. He has actually performed admirably under pressure throughout his career. And that offensive line you tout has never as good at pass protection as they have been at run blocking.

In 2012, when Alabama had 3 All-Americans on the offensive line, McCarron got sacked 23 times.

They were better at run blocking, but they were still one of the best in pass protection.

I'm willing to bet I've seen almost every snap all of the top QBs in CFB this past season has taken a lot more times than you have. AJ never struggled under pressure. He struggled when he never had a chance. The last play he was apart of is a prime example. CyKo fricked up and AJ got strip sacked from the blindside. There was nothing any QB was going about that sans JFF.

the 2010 Iron Bowl was a perfect example of his football IQ. Once Auburn started double covering Julio (as they should have been from the start), he was completely lost. Stared down receivers constantly.

Brodie definitely had more raw potential.

They were 54th in the nation in sacks allowed in 2012.

He did. But he also had a noodle arm, refused to throw the ball away, and couldn't dodge sacks like AJ did.
