Using rankings of when you played is complete bs. Bama's best win is a 3 loss lsu. Only auburn is a top 10 team.

You're using that silly "logic" that LSU fans just don't care much for.

I don't think he should win, but I do think his outstanding play coupled with his leadership and attitude make him deserving of an invite.

What great play? 223 yards/game and not being in the top 2 in qb rating in his own conf? Not making 1st or 2nd team all sec?

Wait stop the presses. Someone please sticky this. I believe this is what LSU fans use to talk about how hard their schedule is.

J.W. has a girl whom will speak Friday with lawyers on hand who says he raped her.

I don't care who gets the award but im my eyes neither JFF or J.W. have lived up to the “ integrity ” that the award says you must have.

AJ is a very accurate qb with great footwork in the pocket but he has never been the best player on his own offense. This career achievement thing shouldn't have any bearing on the Heisman, but like a poster said earlier, Bama fans didn't put him there.

Since AJ is kin to a pedophyle and Lynch and Williams dont play real teams, looks like Tre is the only real winner here.

I was thinking ahead to all of the Gumps who would just say that SEC competition is better than ACC competition. And because I needed a larger statistical sample than just Clemson, I made sure that the methodology would include Miami, which in turn allows for Texas A&M to be included for Bama.

All in all, I don't think my methodology is that poor. Looking at Bama and FSU's schedules, the 5 best teams have to be TAMU, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, and Miami.

I think ole miss and miss st are better than Miami. Maybe not ranking wise but Miami wast great.
Off topic. It's mind blowing that Duke made the acc title game BEFORE Miami

Now, Gumps. Remind me again why AJ McCarron deserves to win the 2013 Heisman Trophy?

He doesn't. But please keep whinnying like our fanbase sent him to NY

Yes. But FSU didn't play Ole Miss or Miss St. I was merely matching up McCarron's best competition against Winston's best competition. Winston had slightly more yards against Miami than he did Duke, but he had fewer touchdowns. So, it was kind of a wash. In the end, I went with Miami, because I think that game tested Winston a bit more than the Duke game did.

This. I haven't heard or seen one bama fan say AJ should win ANd I don't think bama fans would've been shocked if he hadn't been invited. Bama's offense just isn't designed for the qb to put up numbers. Also having a great team means the qb doesn't have to try to force throws( Mett) to Wrs. I think AJ will make a good starting qb in the nfl. IMO having an accurate qb is far more important than having a huge arm of course you need to be able to make all the throws and AJ can. he just needs to work on his deep ball touch. He also needs a little work on his deep out routes. It's a little weird because AJ throw the short to medium out route better than any cfb qb.

I'm aware he doesn't have gaudy statistics; I said as much in my post. But I do think he does an outstanding job of executing our offense. He does particularly well against the blitz, and he rarely turns the ball over.

Also, he did was named 2nd team all SEC in the Coach's list.

I've rarely seen AJ get fooled by the blitz. He always chooses the right hot route. He also isn't a statue back there. On 1/9/12 he put on a clinic of movement in the pocket and the ability to spin away from sacks. He spun away or stepped away from about 6-7 sure sacks where the defender was one on one with him. He has some of the best footwork in cfb. He rarely puts himself in a position to have to throw the ball off balance. He also never drops the ball below his shoulders while moving which let's him always be in a position to throw the ball.

JW is the best player in the country right now and it is not even close. I have always had an issue with Heisman winner getting their based on stats alone. Winston has the stats and wins that think deserves the award. The question of who else should be there can be made by a lot of team fans. Lynch did what against who. Even JFF could not get it done against good teams. Williams could not find the endzone against the good teams they played. I am in belief that Marshall should be there over Mason. And many UA fans would argue Mosley is the best player on UA.

In the end if they are inviting 5 players to NY I do not see 5 better than AJ to be sitting there and truth be told it really has no value except to the fans of those teams.

Not sure the stats you posted had the desired effect that you wanted. Were you trying to point out that AJ threw more TDs and less INTs against top 10 teams?

Winston threw for more yards, with more per attempt, in spite of the interceptions. Do you really think Saban would allow McCarron to put it in the air if he had 1.5 interceptions in big games? The fact is that Winston inspires more faith in Fisher than McCarron does in Saban, and Saban has known McCarron a hell of a lot longer than Fisher has known Winston.

What? Tre Mason is #2 in all of cfb in total yards
