Yo, I don't need a lecture on the development of players or anything. AJ McCarron is 22, which means he is more or less done growing. Males stop growing around this time.

It's a statistical fact that the male body reaches its pique physical prowess at 25. He's 22, he's got 3 more years to get stronger.

AJ reminds me of Eli Manning--to me, he has a similar presence in the pocket. He's accurate and makes good decisions with the football. I also believe he is able to make all of the throws that are needed of him. If given a chance in the NFL, we will prove to be a serviceable starter.

One thing that scouts may not like about McCarron is that he has a long release. He is very accurate and has a pretty strong arm but the release on his throws take longer to develop and the motion of his throw will leave him susceptible to fumbles in the pocket. Just my opinion.

This is true. My degree is Exercise Physiology and we learned this in every anatomy and physiology class.

Not really. I don't see it. He doesn't have the zip that some other QBs have. He is very accurate, though.

Very accurate and when the defense brings an extra rusher, he ALMOST ALWAYS goes to the right receiver. I'm more impressed with his ability to make the right decision. I watched every single Bama game and he had about 10-14 passes , ALL YEAR, that were bad decisions.

Brees has not always been Elite. If he was he would still be in San Deigo right now. There is a reason Phillip Rivers was drafted. Brees has the luxury of Sean Peyton, a QB friendly offense and a superior cast of playmakers.

was just about to make that point. Look at peyton....now he is still a top 5 qb but very rarely throws over 30 yrd passes. League has turned into a dink and dunk and run and passes under 40 yrds. teams are not going long all that much.

I hope you aren't saying Peyton doesn't have a strong arm, because he does. Peyton rarely has his feet set and can throw darts.

Peyton doesn't have nearly the same zip he had earlier in his career. He was still effective this year.

The Bama O-line is losing alot and AJ #s will not regress at all.

You seem pretty confident about that, but if you take a step back you'll see that claim is pretty irrational and not likely to come true.

Point remains AJ will be a starter at the next level. How long he remains a starter all depends what organization he goes to and the pieces they surround him with.

bullshite. No way does AJ start on an NFL
Team his rookie year. You at the biggest homer on here. The kid is accurate and makes good decisions , in CFB. The windows for passes are far smaller in the NFL. AJ will have to go to a team that he can sit for a year or two.

AJ has a quick release and really is film room junky. He knows where to go with the ball, he picks up coverage well and is not opposed to taking the check down. Having all day to throw is a luxury AJ doesn't need to be successful.

You don't know this at all.

One of the only negatives I can see with his mechanics is that he drops the ball down low when he brings the ball back to throw. His release also takes a little long to develop. Other than that, hes been good enough to win us 2 NCs and his arm strength, decision making and accuracy are NFL caliber, imo.

[quote]AJ ... not so much. The championships are impressive and he played well in both games. But he had quite the supporting cast both times. [/quote
They can't seem to see this. They say AJ would be just as good without a good oline. Clearly bHam Dore doesn't know football.

Next year you will see Bama with its whole cast of play makers at the skill position.

Right now Bama only has one consistent threat at Wr in Cooper. When Chirs Black comes back and Bama add OJ Howard you will see AJ flourish.

He will probably throw 35 td next year.

Come on. At age 22 you either have an elite arm or you don't.

There are many great QBs who have/have had great supporting casts. Such a flawed argument.

Yeah I do AJ is a well known film room junky. You don't seem to know AJ at all.

Kid is all business when it comes to football. He has a douche bag reputation, but when it comes to football kid takes that shite serious.
