All of those things weren't 15-20 years in the past when TAMU made their SEC decision. Whereas TAMU had no success, and thus nothing tying them to the status quo. Try and keep up, Texas State.

Probably because it seems to bother longhorn fans like yourself.
quote:”back room deal”? How is it any different than what a&m did? Didnt a&m also vote in approval of the addition with every other member?
Then barely over 10 years later yall run a back room deal to sneak your way into the same conference because yall came to your senses and saw the big 12 wasn’t a good conference.

Why do aggies keep saying Texas “followed them here”?
That’s literally what happened.
We said, “we’re going to accept the SEC offer,” and y’all launched a proxy lawsuit against (via Baylor) to try to stop it. Y’all couldn’t stop it.
Y’all said, “we’re upgrading with TCU!” But you were unable to keep the Big 12 competitive without us, so you stuck your tail between your legs and followed us to the SEC.

Not sure why this keeps cropping up. It is the off-season and the writers are struggling to find something to write about. Most Aggies I know are looking forward to renewing the rivalry with tu. The possibility of this happening are slim to none.
This will be Swaim by the end of the week.

Just to repeat:
quote:
Reasons for A&M to listen to the Big 10 pitch: 1. More money 2. More prestigious academic schools in the affiliation 3. Like a job offer - it's kind to listen when someone is working so hard to get you. Reason for A&M to reject the offer: 1. Everything else. Why would we want to play Michigan and Rutgers and Northwestern rather than LSU and Texas and Arkansas? Ultimately, there is less than zero chance of A&M accepting their attempt to get our attention.

So then you followed Arkansas.

Like y'all couldn't stop the SEC taking Texas. Sankey wiped his arse your Gentleman's Agreement. Your Houston Chronicle stooge even tried to leak the deal to try and torpedo the deal and the SEC brass told you to sit down and STFU. And you did, like the sniveling dogs you are.
quote:
“we’re upgrading with TCU!”
There's zero question TCU was an upgrade athletically.

I don’t know why it matters that A&M was in the Big 12 then when you won?
In 2005 Texas State was in the Southland Conference in the FCS, UTSA football didn’t even exist, TCU was in the Mountain West and UH was in CUSA
You can spin it anyway you want but regardless it was 15-20 years ago. I don’t even know why that was even an arguing point

this is gold right here
You are right. We didn't have any lawyers or politicians to make the case for us, so we used Baylor to file a proxy lawsuit against Texas A&M from joining the SEC.

It’s truly as if some of yall actually believe this, which… wow lol
quote:Do you really think the big 12 was ever thriving because of A&M? A conference you never won once in basketball, once in football, and maybe a handful of times in baseball? That’s seriously what we’re going with?
Y’all said, “we’re upgrading with TCU!” But you were unable to keep the Big 12 competitive without us, so you stuck your tail between your legs and followed us to the SEC.
While we’re at it, did a&m follow Texas in creating a football program? How about following South Carolina when y’all joined the sec?
Did A&M follow every other school in the country by now allowing women in until the later 1900s? When/if you finally win a championship in baseball, will you have been following Texas the entire time?
Are you not seeing how moronic that sounds? Or are all aggies on this site just actually like this?

I know when I go to the definitive source regarding A&M Athletics I look to "flywareagle.com" first.

There is absolutely zero truth to this and I find it funny and pathetic that you have to make shite up to fit some ridiculous narrative.

It's bullshite. If we wanted in that conference That's where we would be. Texas and Oklahoma was a package deal wherever we went.
That's the conference I wanted to go to originally but in the end I'm glad we ended up in the sec because it's a much better conference athletically.

I say go for it if money is significantly greater and contract for being only Big10 school in Texas is in place!
I would not dismiss this talk, new A&M President is hardnosed and this conference expansion was done in an underhanded way.
If my business partner (SEC) lies to me, I do whatever I have to do to screw them, and Big10 is academically more prestigious.

who said we're better than you? I certainly don't think that. I'm damn happy to be in the SEC and love the passion here. There's nothing quite like it.

You left out "we must run from daddy again"
A&M going to the B1G would not hurt the SEC one bit. You're delusional if you think it would. Players want to play in the SEC. That's why we came here. SEC will always be the premiere destination for most of the top players. That's not going to change.
