It isn't just the Ags. There is some SEC rule that doesn't allow a full band to travel to more than 2 conference games. Hence why UGA went to the FL game and will go to Auburn. We brought a pep band to other away games. It's silly but apparently it exists because some schools couldn't afford to do it, none of us are allowed.

That is Effin stupid. One of the things I love about the SEC (on espn) is that we can hear the bands during the game. We always notice how much louder the SEC games are compared to shitty Fox telecasts.

The conference and our TV contract, should embrace the pageantry and sell the shite out of it.

If you can't afford it, just say you can't afford it. Maybe the sips will give you a hand out from thier LHN deal?

I still haven't figured out the song that all the SEC teams play...

Beeeeeep, beep beep beep beep beep.. doo doo dooo doooooo!

All the teams play it, but every team has a different variation...

There are only two games the band is not going to and you named them. Auburn and Miss. State. They will do 10 of 12 games plus the bowl game. Sounds like a bunch to me.

I saw the LSU band at Kyle but never once hears them until I went home and watched the tape of te game.

Do SEC schools ever send the full band? I was surpised lsu did not send their full band to A&M.

Our full band usually only travels to 2 away games (maybe it is 3). They did an extra one this year b/c they went to Dallas. This year they went to LSU, UT and Michigan. Not sure if they did another.

If I'm not mistaken, SEC bands usually always travel. Hopefully A&M will begin doing the same.

The band LSU had at Kyle Field could not have been the entire band, must have been some sort of smaller pep band.

And I seem to recall reading about Tennesee's band playing the opposing team's Alma Mater when the visiting team didn't bring a band.. so I don't think they Always travel.

I agree. But send your band to LSU and they will be booed.

Or hit in the head with half full whiskey bottles, so says a BQ friend of mine who was in the FTAB back when we played every year.

Did the aTm athletic department ever pay back the money borrowed from the general fund? Still pisses me off the tickets to the Jerry World games were 300 bucks cause y'all needed the money.

This is true. I heard about he bottles they used to throw at the other team. A family member who played at Bama in the 70s said they had to keep helmets on the whole game.

They are $300 because Jerry is a pig.

It costs Bama between $350,000-$500,000 to send all 430 band members to games. They always travel to Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, and the neutral site games. I think they're going to TAMU next year though.

it was paid back in like 6 months.

We never really needed the money. It was more small time politics. It's pretty standard shite really that all schools do but our AD tried to shame some people bc they wouldn't let him fire the people he wanted to so he used the opp to make a big deal about it so he could.
