car wrecks are the #1 cause of death in that age group.
I know some people that age and younger who have had major accidents. My nephew totaled his car (with other kids in the car) within a week of getting it, from my mother, his grandmother. My sister had so many accidents that she used to confide to me that she would not live to be 21. She did though she put her best friend thru the windshield once.
I went as fast as possible, ALL THE TIME. I drank and drove, while enjoying the company of my then-gf. Not saying he was drunk. I am just confessing that at that age, I was a risk to all, including myself. Sometimes I would go 100 MPH. I recall that my college roommate from Brooklyn bragged to me, that he got home to NYC from Murray over Christmas break in some record time. If you cant be good, be lucky. I remember once when I was in Cleveland, and my cousins and I went out to pick up Chinese for our combined parents and families at this time of year. they egged me to see how fast the car would go. I was going 80 on a road covered in snow, with cars parked on both sides of me.
Too dumb for words. When I realized what I was doing I slowed down and we lived. I have been very very lucky.

Heartbreaking. My family experienced something similar just two years ago, so my heart aches for his family knowing what they're going through. Praying for them.

What a terrible loss. I am sad to say I wasn't familiar with this fine young man, but it seems that he was a HS valedictorian who spent the morning of his last day doing charity work. Great kid.
Prayers sent for his family, and for the Aggie family.

That is so terrible. His poor family....Prayers sent to them, and the entire Aggie Nation.
As the OP stated, losing a child is bad enough; having it happen at this time of the year can only make it seem worse....May they somehow find peace during this tragic time...
