2019 is the first year Texas would realistically have space on their schedule.

Ya know we can make jokes about this, but I seriously wonder what in the hell Patterson is thinking pushing for a game in Mexico City? WHY??? To lure all those famous Mexican football players to t.u.? To expand LHN coverage not just to the slums of Mexico City, but to that hotbed of football fanatics in Guadalajara? Heh. This is a gift that will keep on giving.

This is what I don't get. I've been railing against the lunatics in Lubbock since I arrived, and every younger Aggie tells me I'm out of touch, it's not that bad, yadda yadda yadda. Or something. And now you (younger than my youngest child, by the way) agree with my assessment. I'll never play poker with any of you.

I think KK is the only hope for a home/home series. But I think if anybody could pull it off he could.

BTW, just noticed the Texas game Dale was bragging about doesn't happen until 2021.

didn't their AD come out and say they kind of sent feelers our way for a series and we showed no interest whatsoever? Id be surprised if it comes back any time soon. I think it comes back before Baylor and texas, but I don't think it happens soon

In roundball it's already a done deal with Baylor. Texas is sure to follow in a year or two. Football is only a matter of time. I'd expect Tech to be the first because of KK's influence, but we'll see. There are way too many people who want to see those games to just say "frick it".

And even scheduling Tech is highly unlikely. Kingsbury has helped Sumlin out in the recruiting trail lately and I doubt he would like to face the recruits he helped get to A&M. If I had to put money on it, I think we would face one of the Oklahoma Big12 schools before we play Tech, Baylor, or Texas in the gridiron.

I'm absolutely fine with that. What I get from a lot of guys, though, is "Oh hell no, never again." And I don't get that.

well personally I have a couple reasons. first I want us to not play any school from the big 12 for a while, not just texas. a lot of that stems from me wanting us to promote ourselves as a SEC program. not the big 12 program that ran away but still likes to hang out with its ex conference mates. basically I want us to close the door on that history of our program and move forward into a new one. secondly, its just rant bullshite that for some reason people don't like to see

I honestly would be fine if we never play a single school from the big 12 ever again. but also. if they came out tomorrow and said hey we are playing OU in a home and home I would accept the game. id just rather wait a while for that to happen. the only school i actually truly never want to play ever again is Baylor

So basically you're saying there is hope for humanity. That's good!

I have no idea. I don't know why our AD wouldn't jump at that. I very much doubt anyone from our AD sat in a Lubbock McDonald's before a game and had an old bag stand up on her table, point her witch fingers at them and relentlessly yell "YOU GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, AGGIES! AGGIES SUCK!". That's my fondest memory of Lubbock. The rest was... disturbing.

maybe because the rumor isn't true. or maybe its because the a&m AD feels the same way i do about the big 12. i dunno

Honestly, the hell with scheduling Big12 schools. I want SWC schools that have history with us. When I think of Texas Aggie football history, I don't think of Iowa State, Kansas, or Okie Lite. I think of Rice MOB, TCU and Coryatt's hit, and Texas being drowned out by..... The 12th Man.

I get all that, honestly. But to me it has nothing to do with the Big 12. Why should we care about the Big 12? The Big 12 is toast and even the Big 12 knows it. It's about scheduling a team for a game that Texans want to watch. Tech and Baylor are admittedly the small fish. A game against t.u.? That one may break all previous viewer records for college football. I've no problem at all with your earlier point about wanting to win something in the SEC first, though.

As a young ag who went to the last game in Lubbock, frick them. I hope we never go back to that hell hole of a city.
