Morris and Baylor may not even agree to terms. Word on the street is that Morris wants an Aggie out clause. Obviously Baylor ain't going for that.

He'll probably stay at SMU another year and then compete for the Aggie job next year once Sumlin is fired

there we go, an actual response. I felt like it would be dumb of Morris to settle for Baylor anyway. Once he wins 8-10 games next season Morris will have much better offers

Yep. If A&M really wants him, I'm sure some regent or booster reached out this past week when the Baylor stories came up.

Just tell him that Sumlin will be out in 2017 and to hold tight until then. Morris has always wanted to come back home.

Baylor is not the 90s baylor and will put in an absurd clause about leaving for A&M.

I doubt Morris would accept it if they made it impossible for him to leave for A&M. He went to A&M and coaching here is his dream job. I think the Baylor job is a death sentence anyways with how wrecked their class is so I would question his judgment if he took it

Teams take on the personality of their coach and A&M is still soft. Morris would be more of the same.

He is a nice scheme/system coach, but A&M would still have the same problems.

They need an entire culture change.

I agree with this. Don't want him, at least not anytime soon. Plus didn't his team just get blow out by 40 giving up 75 points in a game vs navy to become bowl eligible? There's no shame losing to navy, they are good, but there is shame ingetting blown out and allowing 75 points in your biggest game of the season.

agreed. honestly a&m needs to make a change this year too-not next. seriously. if someone was smart, they'd do it now. we won't be any different next year as we have been the past under sumlin. sumlin is not our guy. why put off the inevitable. we might as well make the change at the same time our biggest recruiting competition is making changes too. now that we know who lsu and texas has hired, we have an opportunity to make a really great hire and come out even better in the long run.

He'd be a fool to give up what he can have at SMU for Texas A&M

he is on my list, among a few others.

btw, i have been trying to get on a&m's board and i haven't been accepted over there yet. is there anything else i can do to get approved over there? this very topic is what got me to join the rant yesterday. (i have lurked from time to time over the years here.) i am sick of watching our program not progress to where we are capable to being. i want in over there as it is a more appropriate forum to talk about all of these things…

Unfortunately, some questionable admissions coupled with your lack of a post history raise red flags.

so i just post my thoughts on the rant re: aggie and get told that it is the wrong forum? (which hasn't happened yet because i am trying to wait to discuss everything in the right forum.) why can't i just be added and then if i "act up", which won't happen because i am an aggie that bleeds maroon, be removed from the team forum at that time? i am not shooting the messenger, in fact i'm appreciative of the response, but the logic in excluding me makes no sense whatsoever.

lol! funny!

i don't mind sharing my story though as i love my roots to my team. my father has his phd from a&m, and he taught/researched there for years. he is moved on to industry and is now retired. i grew up two blocks from campus, and i grew up in the csisd school system. great memories of hearing the crowd at kyle from our house and going to the games for free at halftime back then. i remember my dad taking me to the old jersey field for bonfire and my sister and i taking turns sitting on his shoulders when we were little girls. i went to high school with the sisters that own the chicken and rc slocum's son. i remember kevin murray (back when he was cool-we know he isn't anymore) and he came to our elementary school to talk to us about "just say no" to drugs back in the 80's. yes, i am not a youngin. all sorts of my history/stories tie me to aggieland. it is my home.
