Aggie fans, will Chad Morris wait for Texas A&M to fire Sumlin?

SMU is one year away from turning the corner, and Morris already makes a nice 2 million and lives in Highland Park.

I would dread Morris ending up at A&M; elite OC and Texas high school legend. Morris is no doubt in my mind THE answer for A&M.

If the Ag brass were smart they'd be on the phone with Morris to just wait one more season.

Also this is coaching related, but I figured I would get more ag feedback here. Then again, you're probably all on the CC board laughing at our melt

He's another Sumlin. What is different about him?

People said he was the reason Clemson was so good and that they would collapse without him. The exact opposite happened.

I see your argument, but judging by his reputation amongst high school coaches, Morris would recruit at a much higher recruiting level than Rumlin.

I always assumed Rum was a bust after he handled 2013, but I am surprised at how shitty of a recruiter he is. LSU has walked all over him in Texas

Lukewarm to the idea. However, I think we need someone who's proven it at the Power 5 level or NFL.

no single one school has walked all over a&m in recruiting. LSU has taken some kids, Alabama has taken some kids, texas has taken some kids, and OU has. It's been a combo of those schools over the past 12 months

Collectively the aggies have been walked over. you probably have the best facilities in the SEC and are located in Texas. Overall Rumlin has shown he's a weak recruiter.

Perhaps my LSU reference was a slight knock. Let me have my moment since we've hired the swamp baw

He actually calls his own plays, he takes lead on recruiting, he is a legend to Texas HS coaches, would be an A&M lifer instead of always looking to move to a higher paying gig.

"System" guys are not good long term hires. A&M needs a "culture" guy. A&M needs a tough no nonsense type of coach. This is their fourth season in the SEC and teams are still able to line up and run the ball down their throats.

Teams take on the personality of their coach and A&M is still soft. Morris would be more of the same.

He is a nice scheme/system coach, but A&M would still have the same problems.

They need an entire culture change.

And a&m just flipped ausbon. None of this shite matters until NSD. Let alone one that's more than a year away

You think I'm trolling?

There's a lot of talk Morris will go to Baylor. Sorry but he's not going to A&M if he takes the Baylor job. It's a legit question

Baylor is not the 90s baylor and will put in an absurd clause about leaving for A&M.

There's no way Morris spends one season at Baylor with the contract they'll give him. If somehow Rumlin wasn't fired next season I could see if after Morris was there 2-3 seasons
