I hate Dallas and find Houston/SA to be pretty meh. Would never even venture to another part of Texas except to see LSU play in CS, let alone live there.

Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States. How is that meh?

I'm gonna have to agree with you - I hate Dallas, Houston, SA or any big cities for that matter (and I live in Dallas ), but this is probably because I prefer the country outside the hustle and bustle. College Station is about as big as I wanna get...

As compared to the no decent parts of Louisiana?
Don't blame you.

How does huge sprawl make a city cool?
I just prefer places like NOLA, Austin and San Francisco.

Given the unique nature of those cities (they are indeed unlike any other), why not say you dislike almost all of America?

You haven't lived there. There are a ton of good restaurants to go to though.

I don't dislike the rest of America. Some of the rest of it I dislike (Alabama, Dallas), some if it I'm neutral on (Ohio) and some other parts I like just not as much as those 3 cities (San Diego, Nashville)

He's working on some serious Bama bangs, too.

Houston is meh to me as well, and I lived in Dallas for five years. I've seen the good and bad parts of Houston.
As far as cities go, its just massive, and it seems like it would be a lot of work living there, with a small portion of cool stuff to see and do.
I prefer how in Dallas the cool areas are relatively compact, adjacent, and easy to navigate.
I do like that Houston is nearer to the coast. It has better nature.

I'm not saying Houston or Dallas are the meccas of the country or anything, just that they are huge and there is lots to do and lots of stuff going on. Also, the hipsterish snobby nature of "I could only live in Austin" annoys me.

Well its just people expressing a preference without having to make real world decisions about it.
I'd like to live in Austin in about 1997.
Austin today is a great city, but the traffic and the "hype" pretty much kill it for me. Fun to visit and a great town, just not for me at this point in time.
Fayetteville has some of that Austin-vibe, without having to live in a sprawling metro. Hills, trees, lakes, bands, hippies, etc.

Yeah, I like that. But it only proves that Joeckel is 100% SEC, not A&M necessarily. Although, honestly, for the most part, they seem like a decent fit --- most of the time.
