8 conference games allows more flexibility in terms of OOC scheduling.... which is a good thing in determining a league's strength relative to all the other leagues.... and with the new playoff committee, more OOC games gives more data to make accurate decisions (hopefully).

9 conferences + a Conference Championship game doesn't make a whole lot of sense, imo.

you do understand that most teams from power conferences have their OOC schedules locked up years in advance right? you do understand that we have a game with a school from the pac 12 locked up from 2015 to 2019 right?

Such a stupid route. I hate that the Georgia AD is full of a bunch of babies.

Bunch of babies that got what they want. Call 'em whatever you desire because ultimately they don't care because Georgia got what it wanted.

Yes, but I guarantee you there were several BCS conference teams who had a series cancelled late and were looking for games. It actually happens more than you'd think

we had our OOC opponent for 10 years in Arkansas. we lost that once we became conference members. its not that easy when you only have a year or two to bring in a team from a power conference, especially someone worth playing. we do however have it all starting next year

and im pretty sure Missouri didn't have a 10 year agreement with a power conference opponent that got thrown out the window after the very first game was played

They picked up Syracuse last minute, though. Not sure about IU.

The whole "SEC exceptionalism" thing's days are probably numbered. Yeah, the SEC rules CFB. But when the rest of the conferences have all switched to 9 games, it's only a matter of time before a three or four year national title drought gets fingers a-pointin' and talkin' heads a-rantin'. Hell, it would probably only take a single year where the SEC is passed over for the play-off in favor of some other major conference team. The whole affair has the feel of inevitability to it, just like the expansion of other conferences and the addition of a title game had after the SEC started the trend.

1. Other conferences playing more games won't help them be better teams. they areayd play 8 and only like 4 teams can compete with the top dogs in the SEC.

2. IF you look at a map of where the best players are form you will understand why conference doesn't matter as much as geography

3. Babtism by fire, you can't just add another heat lamp and expect it to have the same result.

Big 12 had 9 conference games. SEC had 8. A&M was also in a long term OOC contract with Arkansas. If they teach math in Athens, you could probably figure out the dilemma.

We were effectively having to mad scramble for 2 games on the schedule last second. Tie in the fact that we had an 4 game SMU home/away scheduled, I refuse to take flak from a Georgia fan for only tying to find teams willing to come and play at Kyle without a return visit. Since you know... that is what you've championed as being the most pivotal part of your football program.

Do y'all think that the SEC, will eliminate divisions. If the NCAA, eliminated division requirement.

2 permanent & 6 rotating.

you also have to take into account how we assumed we would still be able to play texas going forward. we wanted to keep that open for us to play

They didn't already have a home/away scheduled.

This is a silly flame. You've heard the reasoning enough to know why it's necessary.

Right, but y'all losing the Arkansas game and them not having something schedule that difference? Both teams were left to scramble last minute or am I wrong? Seriously asking.

Sort of like how Georgia doesn't want to take flak for being babies when we already play 10 BCS conference games?

And why not promise them a return visit?
