That whole area is an outlier though. There are so many people from so many different places. It's a blend. A lot of Florida and a lot of east Texas is like that too.

Outside of Mexicans and Lousianans there's nothing diverse about it though and I consider Mexicans very Texan.

Unless he was referring to Houston and DFW as East Texas

But yes Houston has a ridiculous number of transplants from all over the world. There's an entire neighborhood with street signs in Vietnamese
