No worries, I don't. I understand the putting Missouri in the mid west. It makes sense. What does not make sense is West Virginia and Maryland in the South. Maryland shares a freaking border with New Jersey...NEW JERSEY.

I don't think of Maryland as Southern, either. Anything in Oklahoma west of OKC is a stretch, as are parts of Texas west of DFW.

I refuse to recognize the Census until they make Texas it's own region.

I don't consider Oklahoma southern either. I'm not sure what it is honestly. Probably more Midwestern. It's mostly just a shitty attempt at copying Texas

We're Texans, not Southern, not American, not anything other than Texans.

Maryland also shares a border with Virginia.

The speech dialect quiz gave me Kansas City, Springfield, and OKC which I assume means they have similar speech patterns. I feel right at home in OKC...nothing struck me as being overly "southern" about it compared to what I'm used to.

OKC is not a bad town at all. It isn't southern though. It is kind of similar to Fort Worth in many ways. Rural Oklahoma is my least favorite part of the United States

Virginia in this day and age is pretty much a border state as is Kentucky and Missouri. South below it, north above it.

Missouri's border is an hour drive from Mississippi's border.

The drive from Kansas City to OKC is 6 hours of rural Oklahoma and rural kansas. They look exactly the same for all 6 hours

I'd agree, but more specifically, the Oklahoma panhandle. Jason Aldean makes it sound picturesque. Its really the Land of Blowing Trash.

The border that Maryland shares with Virginia is the part of Virginia that is the opposite of southern.
