No, but neither was A&M.

So LSU was better than Alabama in 2011?

We already proved that we were better than Alabama by beating them on their field in 2011. They got a 2nd chance and took advantage. We were still at least their equal.

We were hands down better than Alabama during the season. They should have never been in the title game. Didn't win the division or play in the SEC championship game plus we beat them at home. Everyone knows this. I'm not making excuses for the NC game because they beat us but shouldn't have been there. They were 1-1 against us in 2011

When was the last time Texas A&M won a NC. It's been 4 pages and no answer. Ouch.

This needs to be repeated every time this subject comes up.

1939, but that doesn't count because they were a military all-male school until after WWII.

The reason that LSU and A&M hate each other is because they see themselves in each other.

While it's true that both LSU and A&M were exactly the same (military/ag schools) from the point of their creation to well into the 1930s, Gov. Huey Long redesigned LSU from a military school format to a school similar in format to the University of Texas. It seems to me like LSU has more in common with UT these days.

Ahhhhhh, I love it! It's good to be hated because you have to be good to be hated. Make sense? Can't wait to get those Aggies in Death Valley and show 'em what's what!

Fawx basically threw up a 21-0 as the crux of his argument and fled the scene.

well one important point did go unmade;

If any time an Alabama fan claims to have been better than LSU in 2011, the fact that we were 1-1 against each other should be brought up...

then the same standard should hold true if LSU claims to have been better than Alabama 2011.

We were pretty much equal... whether or not C3PO wants to admit that we "belonged" in the title game. Anyone with any sense knows that Alabama and LSU were head and shoulders the best two teams in the country.

I agree on that, where we disagree is whether a team has earned the right to be there based on the confines of the BCS, as stupid as they are.

And personally, I think it's asinine to compare LSU and Alabama from that year. Both teams had different position groups they leaned on, and had very different styles of play. Ultimately we were exposed as 1-dimensional, but that was the best 1-dimensional team we've ever had. That was a dominating team, but people forget just how absolutely horrible that offense was.

It goes both ways.

The problem there is that if we both agree that using the confines of the BCS to determine that a team has earned the right to be there, it's equally stupid to use the confines of the BCS to determine that a team "doesn't deserve" to be there.

The two best teams played, but I agree that using BCS bullshite to determine whether or not they deserved to be there is fallacious, because the system is a heap of shite.

Splitting FBS in half and creating playoffs for both is the way to go.

I really do hope they're serious about splitting FBS up.
