Maybe they are betting on the Big whatever sucks and getting our asses handed to us by Arkansas again this fall, will make an SEC move more likely. They would be the MSU or Ole Miss of the SEC and Oklahoma would be set back 10 years until they could get with the SEC speed. Not a match for either of those schools.

I wouldn't mind seeing A&M in the SEC.. however I would hate to see Clemson in. Don't want them in on the share of the giant SEC pie.

Also as someone noted on Gamecock radio.. despite having more than enough fan support bringing in Clemson brings in no new markets. The SEC gets enough by having SC in there plus local UGA fans, I don't think the SEC really needs extra Greenville, SC markets. A&M on the 2nd hand, while still 2nd best in their own state still brings the state of Texas into the equation with a large fan base as well.

Oklahoma would be able to adapt pretty quick. They would be up to speed in about 4 years. They would still win at least 8-9 games a year.

You are kidding I hope.... OU would be 10-2 11-1 this year in the SEC depending on its schedule. Only possible better teams are LSU and Bama. And they could win either of those games.

Seriously though why must the SEC go so far to the west. UF-College station is far as shite, the thought of going further to Norman is just stupid. Personally my vote would be for a North Carolina (though they will never leave the ACC due to basketball). If it is a team from Florida I would prefer Miami to FSU. Locks up the S Fla market though the thought of them getting a piece of the SEC pie would suck.

so you think that a&m's bor has the power to just "join" the sec? or you think they have an "open invitation"? the first is absolutely and unequivacably (sp) wrong and the second is so wild that i have lots of difficulty believing it. maybe, just maybe the sec invited a&m conditionally and gave them a window to accept. otherwise, i don't see it. i think a bunch of folks are grasping at straws.

Why not be farther west? LSU is the farthest there is. Why do we need to keep having to travel east?

Longhorn Network has Aggies' attention
A&M regents to have special meeting about UT channel
By BRENT ZWERNEMAN
College Station Bureau
July 18, 2011, 10:19PM

quote:

COLLEGE STATION – The Longhorn Network, more than a month before its scheduled start, already has at least one rapt audience: rival Texas A&M. A&M has added a closed-door session concerning the Longhorn Network to its regents’ regularly-scheduled meeting on Thursday and Friday, a person with knowledge of the situation said Monday. The agenda item is dubbed “Big 12 Conference.” The execution session will be informational only, including concerning UT’s plans to air a Big 12 football game on the ESPN-owned network, and to potentially air high school games, the insider said. No action will be taken, the person added, the regents will simply be informed of the latest by lawyers concerning the deep-pocketed network. The insider said A&M is committed, for now, to making a 10-team Big 12 work, and that the threat of a potential move to the Southeastern Conference is not in the immediate future. The Aggies nearly bolted the Big 12 for the SEC last summer, after Nebraska left for the Big Ten and Colorado for the Pac-12, before last-hour financial pledges for the remaining members by Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe kept the league intact. The A&M insider added, however, that UT’s network, funded by ESPN, might put the league’s other nine schools at disadvantages on multiple fronts, and A&M is leading the way in checking every possibility – and also leaving its long-term options open should the league appear to have one dominating member thanks primarily to the unprecedented network. The Longhorn Network is a 20-year, $300 million partnership between ESPN, UT and IMG College. The network is scheduled to crank up on Aug. 26 with a two-hour show from the UT campus, followed by the Longhorns’ volleyball season opener against Pepperdine in Austin.

What about NC State?
Do they want to get out of the Triangle and stop being the retard in the Duke-UNC trio or do they want to stay with those schools?

not shocking out of a gator - you guys consider it a long trip when you go to miami

I'm against adding teams to the SEC because 14 is a lot more awkward than 12 to manage schedule wise... but if the SEC were to expand for the purpose of making more money? You couldn't do much better than adding OU and A&M

AnM should be the west, and Va.tech in the east. If they make this move.
