to the OP

Definitely have exceeded my expectations but agree with you on Arky and Aub or this may have been my original 6-6 expectations. 3 first rounders in the trenches and an out of no where talented fish QB has certainly helped, but no mistake we are still 3-4 years away from recruiting the depth we will need to compete with Bama/LSU every year.

It's all about recruiting and Texas certainly has the talent to compete but can we consistently bring them in?

I agree Texas has talent but I can't decide if that talent is overrated or if Mack Brown simply can't develop it. He has a top 5 recruiting class every year but has lost 13 games the last three years.

Mack is a politician. All talk. We have a saying in Texas, "All hat and no cattle". That is Mack Brown to a T(sip).

How many years does he buy just by changing coordinators? Does he have pictures of Deloss and farm animals?

We will never be behind Arkansas on a consistent basis. They were good last year and we were terrible and would have beat them without the patented aTm collapse.

Come on, man. I made a pretty awesome sheep-fricking pun and you ignored it. I'm literally more proud of that joke than I am of my own son.

aTm will will be better perennially than MSU and Ole Miss. Unlike Arkansas, Sumlin will recruit well there. They could be the third best team in the west for a few years, while giving Bama and LSU fits.

I'd say a bit of both. Overrated players are consistent for all teams but truthfully outside of the blue chips, out of 28 scholarships a year, how many actually work out?

Mack was seriously devastated after the championship loss to bama. He has been deflated and defeated since then and that explains the last three years of player development. IMO he had plans to retire if he won the BCS title with Colt and turn the team over to Muschamp. Go out on top.

If Colt stays in that game, who knows the outcome? I bet Mack looks in the mirror and reminds himself every day that the fish QB almost pulled it off, if only Colt...

Back in July during SEC Media Days (here in Hoover) Coach Sumlin said something that really was prophetic now. Coach Sumlin was kind of like Rodney Dangerfield, "hey we get no respect!" Coach Sumlin said something to the effect that teams in the SEC would come to respect Texas A&M. Now I understand what he was talking about. If TAMU was not in the SEC I think we would be playing not as tough of an opponent tomorrow. Good Luck Aggies! Roll Tide Roll!

They are middle of the pack and will continue to be so. Bama and LSU will guarantee they lose 2 games a year. When Arky gets a coach that's another loss.

I agree. They have played some solid football and JFF is fun to watch. I even like the crazy yet spirited fanbase and rituals as I feel they add to the fun and the depth of SEC tradition. Hell of lot more than Mizzou added.

This shite is hilarious. Most obvious wishful thinking post I've seen on the Rant in a while. Guarantee? Every game we've lost this season we were up double-digits at some point. But this isn't Sherman. Sorry, LSU, but your time will come to an end sooner rather than later.

Oh, and to the OP from me as well. Seems like I've been waiting all week to see a sensible, humble Bama post, but this place is just full of chest-beating douches

No one cares what an ignorant gump thinks. Your defense isn't half of what LSU's is, and Johnny managed to survive. Johnny doesn't care about your 29 first year starters or however many defenders you have that can't even fathom someone as fast as the best QB in college football.

Sucks to suck.
