A&M guys, does the Texas loss make the Bama loss tolerable?

I am assuming you would rather beat Bama and Texas win, but if you had to lose to Bama did the bonfire that is UT football and spanking the Rebel Bears gave them allow you to at least enjoy the day.

I remember being in Tuscaloosa on a rare day that Ole Miss beat them many many years ago and how everyone gathered around the TV to watch the LSU and Auburn game (The earthquake game. As they told me as long as Auburn lost too the parties would be lively and fun going into the am.

Is it the same at A&M?

Yes, if not more important. Big brother is all we care about.

Is that what you were looking for?

I don't get fanbases that find solace in another team's loss after they lose, unless it has direct implications on your team's season.

UT is probably very thankful for LHN right now.

I enjoyed the day no matter what. We had a chance to win at the end of the game, and couldn't get it done. Bama is the better team. We still have work to do.

It's funny that the longhorns lost. I hope they win out and keep mack, but it was funny.

I can imagine the fact that a team from their new conference beating Texas must have been satisfying, but I'm willing to bet that most A&M fans are just blissful about Texas' overall decline regardless of how last weekend turned out.

Absolutely! It's the only thing that matters to us.

Which is why we don't care about the Ole Miss win. I sort of wish tu won. It seems Mack's fate is now sealed. I wish that wasn't the case.

There's still a lot of football left to be played. Hopefully, the effing longhorns can turn it around and save macks job for another few years. We'll just keep doing what were doing and getting better.

Honestly didn't catch one snap of the Texas/OM game as I was too busy drinking my sorrows away.

Glad OM won though, but it really doesn't matter.

At least Lane Kiffin bounced back last week. Poor Mack.

I agree; it may be good for a chuckle, but it wouldn't make and LSU loss any better for me. I hope Mack isn't done; I'd like to see him right the ship before leaving on his terms.

I'll play. I would have watched it if I could have, but like most of Texas, I still don't get the LHN. So it just wasn't important to keep up with. I was pleased to see the score on Sunday morning although all of the horn fans I know were doing nothing but posting on facebook about the great Alabama victory.....I don't think they knew they lost?

Not trying to flame.

Just trying to get a gauge on the level of hate between two schools guys with the only think similar that I know.

It doesn't have direct implications on the 2013 season, but it does have implications on 2014 and beyond.

Here's why:

Texas has always relied on "we're Texas" for their recruiting. If A&M is thought of as the first option for in-state talent to stay in state, A&M will pull in the blue chips that Texas has been wasting, and unlike Mack Brown, will coach them up.

Meh, at some level you just have to hope that they screw up the next coaching hire. Mack is going away eventually.

I think its a great chance they screw up next time. Mack was their second choice remember. I feel their entitlement will lead them to overshoot the mark.

That's because you don't have a rival.

If Bama loses, I'm sad, but if Auburn loses it helps the pain like three or four stiff shots or bourbon.
