Dude is pretty impressive and will only get better. Are you guys happy with the way he has been used so far? With the lack of running game, I would find more was to incorporate him in the offense Reggie Bush style. A wr option run with him and Kyler would kill imo.

He's occasionally been used out of the backfield and has taken snaps in the Wildcat. Overall, I've been pleased with the way we've used him.

Kirk is a better wildcat qb than kyler!!!!!! Switch the alignment and you may have something

I know you don't want to over use a guy, but he is the type of talent that can free up things for Seals-Jones and others.

He lined up as an H-back a few plays vs arky and it confused the hell out of them (all pass plays). I think we've done a few jet sweeps with him, but not many.

Our running game has been just fine this season, with the exception of last week. We have averaged 4.3 YPC and have 972 yds on the season. That's pretty much what our offense is going to do running the football.

Want more screens and targets in the middle of the field.

No need to throw it to him downfield. He'll get there on his own.

He returns kickoffs and punts. He is their primary WR as well. He is undeniably an awesome talent, but he is still just a freshman. The Aggie coaches have done a great job maintaining that line between under and over use.

It will be interesting to see how the A&M offense evolves around him during his sophomore and junior seasons.

I'm trying to figure out how he was the 25th ranked player in the country last year. He should have been top 5.

Definitely a fine line between getting the ball in your best play-maker's hands and over utilizing.

RSJ is starting to come into his own, and as Speedy gets healthier and continues to develop as a WR, the distribution of the football will be more balanced. But until we can develop an adequate running game, our play against elite defenses will be suspect.

He's been everywhere on the field. Returning kicks, returning punts, slot receiver, in the backfield, and at QB. We've done a great job getting in the ball. The idea of getting him and Kyler running the ball together is a good one, even if it hasn't really worked yet.

Its hard to get every ranking right. Depending on where a kid ends up will make a difference as well. How they are utilized, what other talent is around them, etc. Think of all the players they were "busts" that could have potentially gone elsewhere and balled out. A&M was a perfect fit for Kirk, glad he is doing so well.

I would like to see them do what you said, or just create more long handoffs for him out of some different types of screens. People who report on our program really built him up going into the season and he's somehow surpassed the hype.

He was down to us and Ohio State IIRC. I love that we got him and he will shine in our offense, but thinking of him at OSU is scary as well

Kirk is really good but it seems like aTm has forgot about a lot of their other weapons. I don't remember seeing Josh Reynolds against Bama and he's a really good receiver. Don't think Speedy touched the ball other than on KOs. RSJ appears to have incredible talent, but hasn't put it all together yet after what, three seasons? Do yall even use a TE in the passing game? What happened to Cam Clear?

aTm has so many weapons, but couldn't really use any of them. Does the blame for that fall all on the QB?

Dude will have 180 yds and 3 tds this weekend. OM defense is too soft on the pass. He'll take short passes to the house.

Basically Percy Harvin (albeit half a step slower). Dude is finna eat against some soft secondaries, so I'm guessing he's going to be chasing some freshman records.

Probably wasnt rated higher due to his height and playing in Arizona.

His talent was obvious though at the opening.

2 Reasons, he is from Arizona and he isn't big. Most recruiting analysts don't ever look at prospects from Arizona as the state only produces a few good ones each year typically, A&M has just gotten the best player the last 2 years with him and Allen. He put up insane stats in HS both running and receiving and he was Gatorade Player of the Year and won the State Title for his team. To most analysts though they just look and say "Yeah, but it was in Arizona and he is 5'11 200 with great speed." Hard to know his game would translate so well to the SEC.

As for how he is used the best example is actually Tavon Austin. Remember that Jake Spavital used Austin the same way at WVU before coming to A&M. They have been putting him all over the field and he has the football IQ to know where to be even though he is just 6 games in to his college career (benefited a ton by being an early enrollee and by all accounts is a film fanatic with a tremendous work ethic).

As for usage and how it affects other players it is more a matter of him being lined up all over the place. Reynolds is almost always on the outside to the right. Speedy has been hurt but he is always outside to the left. RSJ lines up as a TE/slot/HBack. Kirk is everywhere from the backfield to the slot to going in motion to the Wildcat. Thus he gets more targets because he forces better matchups. A team can double the outside guys easily and take away Reynolds or Speedy but doing the same with Kirk is much harder because he could line up anywhere and run any route. As teams start to key more on Kirk he will actually be even more dangerous as a decoy because that puts Speedy and Reynolds in 1 on 1's going downfield.

It's the essence of the Spread. Great athletes in constant motion spread all over the field putting tremendous pressure on the defense at all times.
