So A&M will still be ranked high from preseason hype and playing a bunch of cupcakes, thus bringing in better ratings for CBS.

4-1 or 5-0 ranked A&M before they get into real SEC play vs Alabama is a much better seller on the huge Texas market than 5-5 unranked A&M after playing the SEC schedule.

2012 matchup was in November, then 2013 was in Sept and has remained early in the season ever since.

2012 schedule was messed up for everybody because of the bridge scheduling. The same weekend that Bama and A&M played in Nov LSU was playing MSU (IIRC). LSU played A&M in early October that season and 2013 and 2014 and from now on that came will be in Nov. They just had to squeeze in Aggy and/or Mizzou into teams schedule wherever they could.

the conference most likely did it to give Alabama the advantage, as always.

Saban and Bama nation were embarrassed by a newbie. The newbie celebrated 12 mths as if they won a bcs title. It pissed Saban off even more. Saban tells Slive they don't want to play that game/offense following a slugfest with lsu. Game changed. All Bama players are fresh. Aggie hasn't won since and it's getting ridiculous ... 59-0.

My sources in the sec office don't lie.

LSU fans complained to the sec office that it wasn't fair that we got to play a tired Bama team late in the season and that it also wasn't fair that we were allowed to beat Bama when LSU isn't and can't seem to do it.

Texas A&M is still Bama'a little brother.

I guess some things never change for the Little Brother Aggies.

Same reason that Bama had 4 division home games that year, and A&M only had 2, while the rest of the conference had 3. As a division tiebreaker, this is an important feature. Originally A&M was supposed to open up SEC play against Alabama at home, but last second Saban changed it. Also made Mizzou play at Kyle Field for the third year in a row, something we didn't want to happen. But whatevz. Saban gets his way.

I didn't know there was a debate. Doesn't the REC control SEC schedules?

I really believe it was in response to the SEC Network. The launch of the network stated there would be an SEC v SEC game every weekend. In the past, almost all teams had a few "tune up" games with Little sisters of the poor and the back end of the schedule was conference game heavy.

With the SEC Network, the schedule needed to be more evenly spread.

Add in the fact that a few teams do those Neutral Site "bigger matchups" as an opener and it made it even more important to get earlier matchups sorta set as regular occurrences (having more "knowns" allows for possible variation from time to time with the few unknowns)

Please don't ever use those words in that order again.
I knew if they joined the conference this would happen.
