2012 matchup was in November, then 2013 was in Sept and has remained early in the season ever since.

TIA, trying to settle a debate here

Because Johnny Manziel for some reason sucks at the beginning.

If anything Saban should have wanted it after LSU so he could take notes from Chavis.

LSU fans complained to the sec office that it wasn't fair that we got to play a tired Bama team late in the season and that it also wasn't fair that we were allowed to beat Bama when LSU isn't and can't seem to do it.

Only correct reason is because SEC offices are in Alabama.

Johnny had over 900 yards vs Bama in 2 years.

Not an A&M fan, but I believe it had something to do with the weird schedule flip the conference had to do to accommodate 14 teams. That first year (2012) you had a lot of series that got repeat home games from 2011.

The following link doesn't exactly answer your direct question, but shows the scheduling challenges that were faced.

But the conference most likely did it to give Alabama the advantage, as always.

CBS probably asked them to do it to beef up the September schedule.

Saban didn't want to have to play 1950s ground and pound then 2000s air raid back to back.

Is this the best schedule thread idea LSU fans can come up with this summer?

We were told that Nick Saban's input was that he wanted the A&M game early in the season.
