Chances are fairly low that we keep McNeese. I'm hearing that we open the season on Thursday night against La. Tech.

I keep seeing that too, but so far the only "sources" are random posters on 2 different message boards who heard it from a friend.

Hearing that from someone that would know? Or just seeing it on message boards like I am...

And can you really say that as a BAMA fan? Don't you guys routinely have 2 FCS teams on the schedule?

Obviously it hasn't held you back from winning NCs.

I can't remember ever having two 1AA teams in a single season.

Maybe so, I just feel like it isnt unheard of in the SEC to play 2 FCS teams. Maybe I'm wrong.

To me its splitting hairs to debate which is tougher between playing a bottom tier MAC or WAC team, and playing a FCS team. It matters for bowl eligibility, but thats about it.

I'm just seeing it online. I just have to believe there would be too many pissed off Ags to allow two FCS squads to come in as home games this year. Hell, maybe it's $Bill's last middle finger to the fans before he retires.

Not that La Tech isn't above getting paid to lose, but they are already playing Texas State in San Marcos. Not sure I see them playing twice in this area in a year.

Of course they did play all 3 Mississippi schools last year and walked away with a win in one of those... way to go ole piss.

The problem is AM is leaving themselves little room for error. A&M is not going to beat LSU, Arky, Bama, or Auburn. Right now I have AM with 2 conference wins in UF and Ole Miss. So you need to beat either Moo St or Mizzou to get to a bowl.

This is not very SEC of you guys. Well, I guess it is if you plan on going the Miss St route and win 2 games in the conference every year, go 6-6 and call it a successful season.

That is not very SEC of you to pick on State, but if Arky had 17 losing seasons, a 7-6 record is great.....State is on the way up....might beat Arky next year if they play.......

There is no good answer.

La Tech beats you and you will be one down in recruiting vs La Tech for those Louisiana 3-stars you've been beating La Tech for lately.

Florida State is going to compete for championships.

What makes you so confident about our team? I know it'll be a home game which means we'll probably win but still I wouldn't already count A&M out.

I have it on good authority that you will not be playing McNeese next season.

I hope Mizzou doesn't end up in the same boat. We still have two slots to fill due to the move as well. We recently added UCF AT their place for the 10th game, which is just terrible. I'd like at least one non-con game that isn't shitty.
Arizona State @ Faurot is ok I guess.

I also don't really want to end up with Florida State and add a non con loss when we'll playing in the SEC West. I wish we could have gotten a shitty 1-A school though.

I'm really not at liberty to discuss much, but my ties are definitely on the east side of the Sabine.

This move was made from the west side, though. And it has had some trickle down effect on other schedules, as you can probably presume.

Well you were right. It is now official and up on A&M's website that we have dropped McNeese and will be playing La Tech at the Independence Bowl to start the year on Thursday, Aug 30th.

LINK

Seems like we are going to get a max of 6 home games this year which sucks but isn't all that bad for me since I live in Dallas and will be going to the game vs SMU and will likely now pop on down to Shreveport for the season opener.
