South Carolina state has been added to our schedule. We already have McNeese St. Only one counts towards bowl eligibility. I know we are in a bad shape trying to schedule late but if we go 6-6 and miss a bowl this will have been a mistake.

We still have one more game to fill

Hate this. I can totally see us going 6-6 and missing a bowl, and I think we could have easily scheduled a Sun Belt type team for an easy win (and if you make a stAte joke)

Should change the title to "A&M ensures bowl ineligibility for 2012 season."

This is not very SEC of you guys. Well, I guess it is if you plan on going the Miss St route and win 2 games in the conference every year, go 6-6 and call it a successful season.

It's not that easy... we were going to put Southern Miss on the schedule until they realized that we are between a rock and a hard place scheduling wise.

They asked for 1.25 million... we said frick yourself...Literally, no one out there is willing to make accomodations for a 2 for 1 or even a home/home.

I knew we were going to have to get a second FBS school because of the short list of teams who have open dates when we do.

I'm hearing our last open date will be filled by Florida State or La Tech.

UAB would have been an easier win.

Not that I care about bowl games at 6-6... personally I think they should raise the bowl eligibility total to 7 wins or 8 wins.

Way to bring it, Aggies ! Awesome addition to the league. Maybe DeVry has a similar open date and y'all can play them.

We didn't have a choice swampdildo... You can thank the late release of the SEC schedule, The Big 12 and Big East not knowing anything (Oklahoma is in the same spot having to schedule an extra FCS opponent as is a couple of Big East fricks) and the fact that those FBS teams who do have an opening charging way above market price for a FBS vs. FBS matchup.

I hope we don't get stuck playing a team like that. I'm hoping we somehow at least schedule a BCS school.

Once WVU is officially in the Big 12 for 2012 (should happen any day now, maybe even today), every BE team suddenly has a spot to fill in their schedule.

Wish we'd have held out and gotten 2 average BE teams instead of SCST....Now, hopefully we just get ONE BE team and call it a day.

And can you really say that as a BAMA fan? Don't you guys routinely have 2 FCS teams on the schedule?

Obviously it hasn't held you back from winning NCs.

No. We have had one since the SEC moved the Iron Bowl back a week a few years ago. Our choices then were either schedule a 1-AA school, since pretty much everyone else has conference games already scheduled that laste in the season, or play 11 straight games without a bye. Hopefully this will be addressed in the 2013 SEC schedule since the TV partners are unhappy with how weak the schedule that weekend was this year (Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina all played 1-AA teams that Saturday).

I keep reading that we are going to drop McNeese and add La Tech in their place...
