LSU Alleva screwed up the whole coaching deal. It doesn't make the fans wrong for wanting the change.

I agree. And I totally get why LSU fans were frustrated and wanted a change from Miles. Here is how his teams finished in the AP Poll during his tenure:

2005: #6
2006: #3
2007: #1
2008: NR
2009: #17
2010: #8
2011: #2
2012: #14
2013: #14
2014: NR
2015: #16
2016: Fired mid-season

Now obviously beginning in 2012, things started to slide... but LSU was still a Top 15 program during Les' final four years in Baton Rouge.... and yes, Les started the season 2-2, but those two losses were both to opponents who played in a New Years Six Bowl at the end of the year. LSU ultimately ended up finishing the year ranked #13 with Coach O leading the way, but the finish probably would have been similar even if Miles had finished the season out.

I get not being content with being a Top 15 program when you expect to win Championships... but perhaps not only the LSU administration but also the LSU fan base should have taken an inventory of the situation to realize the lack of quality coaches available before firing Miles. There seems to be a serious lack of great coaches out there right now. Did LSU fans really think they were going to get Herman when the Texas job also seemed likely to be open?

Miles had his flaws, but he had proven multiple times that he could produce Championship calibur teams at LSU.

He was a National Title in Year 3.... you can say he benefited from what Saban had built, but by Year 3 typically that program is owned by the head coach. He had two of his worst seasons in 2008 and 2009, but got it back together to win the SEC and play for another Championship in 2011.

Miles took LSU to two National Title Games, which is exactly two more than what Richt took Georgia to.... plus Richt was in Year 15.... so I think Georgia fans had more of a reason to demand change.

Both Uga and LSU fans were justified. No need to go into the records and history. We all are familiar with both. Your leadership executed a plan better than LSU. That is the real difference here.

Both your coaches entered the season on the hot seat. Both could still end up canned by the end of the season with a few bad losses between now and December...

We can only hope.

LSU has proven that the grass is not always greener on the other side. How many Tiger fans this morning are still glad they have Coach O as head coach in Baton Rouge over Les Miles?

We aren't firing our winningest coach. We're firing our Gene Chizik.

There will always be a time to part ways with a coach... Tennessee appears to have reached that point... but Auburn and Texas A&M both sit at 4-1 right now, and appear to have teams that are in the top half of the league. While they both did it in Year 1 at their respective schools, Sumlin and Malzahn have produced teams that finished in the Top 5.

We're about to be 7-6. And Sumlin has only finished ranked with Manziel.

No.

IMO, Gus could go 11-3 with 1 point loses to uga and bama both top 5 ranked teams and he'll likely get canned. It's the Auburn way.

Gus ain't getting fired for turning in a 9-3 regular season, even with close losses to UGA/UA.
