I've repeatedly said Bama was probably the best team in 2011 but they weren't the most deserving team to be in the title game. They went 1-1 against top 25 teams during the regular season.

What happens then? A team that doesn't win there division or conference should not be in contention. My position will never change.

Exactly. When there is no set criteria to making the playoff, no team that wasn't the best team in their own conference should have zero chance to be the best team in the country. It's literally impossible to be the 2nd best team in the sec west and the best team in the country
