A very possible scenario for those who don't like"mulligans"

Alabama beats LSU in a tight game next week and goes on to play in and win the SEC Championship game,Bama gets in because LSU takes out Ole Miss. The Tigahs run the table the rest of the way.
LSU would have a one or two point loss on the road to the SEC Champions and sitting at 11-1. What happens to them?

I don't think mulligans should be allowed in the CFP. It makes the first game meaningless. Okie State will get screwed.

There is a very real chance a lot of them on here that screamed against the rematch are going to find themselves looking at the same scenario from the other end.
Personally I would think they should get in, but it will be interesting to watch should this happen.

Yeah they will. And they will flip the script and claim that they did not have a problem with the way things turned out in 2011.
But, if we win and we both win out, both should probably get in. A lot will still depend on how the ACC, B 1 G, and Big XII shakes out.

The senecio isn't the same. 2015 is a playoff format.
Eta: nice try tho!

For once a Bama fan gets it.
Besides, the difference here is how low they drop after that loss. I am sure it will be lower than a known incident that was similar a few years back.

Nope. Not the same. Would be the same only if this game was played in Death Valley.

Only a bama person would consider it the same. There is now a 4 team playoff. Bama would have been deserving of that in 2011...just not the 2 team format as it was. Of course there is also the little issue that bama was at home...vs a close loss this year would be LSU on the road. Of course LSU will fall much farther than bama regardless of how close the game may be.....but the real drama here will be if bama loses a close one and other contending teams drop a game. You know there is a certain contingent out there that will be pumping bama as still one of the top 4 teams in the country despite the 2 losses.

I think that you should win your division and conference if you want to play for a "National" championship. What happened with Alabama in 2011 was a travesty. I have always thought that.
And, I think that the only teams that should make the "playoff" are conference champs.
However, what I think does not matter. It is what it is. If the above scenario happens and LSU gets in with one loss, it will be more legitimate than Alabama getting in in 2011 because there is now a playoff, at least.
Alabama fans should leave this subject alone.

After that 2011 Championship game no one is getting a mulligan unless the season turns to total shite like 2007. You're talking about cutting 2-3 other conferences depending on whether Notre Dame wins out. If the scenario described above happens, we'll be in the Chicken Bowl.

They were clearly the better team.

Yeah, on. 1/9 because they got a mulligan and backed their way in. LSU was clearly the better team all season and Alabama had no business in that game. That is like saying that Ole Miss has been better than Alabama the past two years because they beat you. It is ludicrous.
On 1/9, Alabama was better. Other than that, I have to give the nod to LSU for the 2011 season without question. But,'it is what it is. Bama fan insecurity is showing big time in this thread.
The 2011 Alabama Crimson Tide finished 3rd in the SEC that year and 2nd in the SEC West and nothing will ever change that.

Both of you are tards. Making a 4 team playoff is not on the same planet as being chosen to play in the actual NCG. Not to mention there are going to be a hand full of other teams who are undefeated, so I'm not so confident LSU gets in with this scenario anyways.

Bama is not getting in. OK?
You're not going to the playoffs.
Deal with it!

Making a 4 team playoff as a division champion is not the same as making the MNC after winning nothing.
These scenarios are not even remotely the same.
