A time you enjoyed a rival team failing that didn't involve your own team?

Examples as a Bammer
2014 BCSNCG Florida State beating Auburn
Don't care for Winston but that made me laugh.
2004 BCS Selection Committee
Yes I agree Auburn got screwed but I enjoyed it anyway.
2001 SECCG LSU beats Tennessee to knock them out of National Title Contention.
Hated UT during that time, they owned us year after year.

Vandy beating USCe the year after SOS made fun of UGA for losing to Vandy was a lot of fun.

If people are honest, the answer will be just about every time they lose.

The only way I would be for auburn is if it was a situation where they had to beat someone to help Bama get in SECCG or Playoff.
Like arky beating ole miss last year or similar situation.

I don't get the reason for supporting all SEC teams. I root against all rivals (and all SEC teams) when they play anyone, unless a win would benefit UT.

A better question is when did you not enjoy a rival team failing, which would be one of the worst feelings, to debase yourself by cheering for you rival, only for them to lose anyway.

Not a formal rivalry but Texas A&M > Auburn was sweet after the Laquon 2014 incident.

Edit: UL Monroe > Alabama 2007

quote:

Secka had intercepted Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson twice that day, nearly scoring on the second interception. Secka was a two-star junior college transfer who chose ULM in part because it played SEC schools. He would have loved to have played for Saban, but Secka was the type of lightly-recruited player Alabama would almost never sign.

“It was my opportunity to say hello, and I kind of wanted to see how he’d react,” Secka said of his attempted handshake. “I stuck my hand out, and he walked right by me. He didn’t want any part. You could just tell he was like, ‘I don’t know how I’ll explain this loss’ -- just a pale face and a blank stare. I wouldn’t have wanted to talk to me, either. It was one of the coolest feelings that I tell everybody. He was probably so wrapped up into, ‘We just lost to a Sun Belt team’ that he probably didn’t even notice I was there.”

1) Any time Auburn lost or will lose in the future.

2) Any time Fulmer coached Tennessee lost. Especially enjoyed LSU beating them in the 01 SEC championship game.

Otherwise I always pull for the SEC out of conference. And within conference, against Auburn and for any team that will help Alabama in rankings, etc.

Although, there have been some exceptions to the rules. I hated Dennis Franchione so much after he left Bama, I pulled for Tennessee in a bowl game match up with aTm. And there have been a couple of times I had to pull for Auburn based on tiebreakers, etc.....and when I held my nose and pulled for the Barn, the bastiages have almost always lost.

This one's easy. I can't even imagine what it was like as an Auburn fan in that stadium that night.

That play was a double whammy for LSU fans. Got to see Bama lose and Auburn got false hopes that Gus was a good coach.

ULM beating Bama was awesome.

In 2007, Saban to Bama was still a fresh thing, LSU was awesome that year, and Saban lost to the 4th best team from Louisiana.

Obviously in the last 5 years he has bent our state over a railing and shoved his midget pecker in our butts, but that one day in 2007 was just fantastic.
