You sound like Steele when he predicts scores on ESPN and even admits he doesn't trust his computer model...

Since you like to use old data, just plug in his Stanford numbers for the Utah game and let us know how that game is going to go so I know it if is worth watching.

That's the fault of bankroll management, not making a bad play.

If you are hitting 90% and losing money you are an idiot for not practicing good bankroll management.

I bet flat for all my games. It's a marathon, not a sprint. It's like the stock market, you have to be patient and let the long run play out.

So you bet on games to make $5? lol.

I usually make a few thousand a season. I don't need a computer model to tell me. I have over 30 years of knowledge of the entire world of college football and I watch as many games as I can.

accnodefense, I'm sold. This is good stuff - don't listen to the morons that can't spell statistics. Do you post the SPSS or Excel files anywhere?

Ive played with a model of my own. I haven't found the time do figure all 128 teams, which is really the only way you can make it work.

ITT idiots take single examples and try to use them as proof against statistical analysis.

I convert the XML game books into the data I use. the XML Game Books come from College Press Box which is a distro list for media, SIDs and writers. Not sure if a joe-schmo can get access to it, I know I have to pay an annual fee also.

Someone on reddit at /r/cfbanalysis is apparently releasing his free data for this season so I won't have to rely on these XML files anymore. College Press Box does a shitty job at making sure all the files are there, about once a week an XML Gamebook file is missing so I have to manually type up the data myself which sucks since it takes about an hour per game to do manually.

Ignore that dude.

He is a manchild who peaked in high school and never took a statistics class. He is mad that the kid he gave swirlies to is making ten times his salary.

I'm not gonna lie, I was initially pissed when I read this. But after reading the entire thread I'm ok with this. There's no way you could objectively measure the things that are going to matter the most for Auburn.

Good work man.

it is as intellectual as you can get, without knowing the "human" factor. I would imagine that this dude is extremely successful in stats.

Would love to have this info myself on a per game basis.

Dude, can you do only an SEC / SEC analysis?
