If we can't get to the playoffs we may as well throw enough of the season to get to Vegas

Of course not but it was the Dallas Bowl referred to in the post to which you replied.

I'd rather see the SEC drop one of the bowls with the Big-10 and replace it with a PAC-12 team

This. Maybe we could replace the Gator Bowl or Birmingham Bowl with a PAC 12 tie in.

Close enough that the PAC 12 (who don't tend to travel well from what I understand) would attend and interesting enough that the SEC fans would be willing to fly out there. It would seem like a slam dunk idea for a highly rated bowl that actually manages to turn a profit on attendance.

What's wrong with Shreveport? I was born there and I'm currently in only TWO gangs. They don't know so I gotta stay incognito on here but it's a nice place.

If it were, in fact, a highly rated bowl game--i.e., high on the pecking order--then it might be a good deal. But, if this is taking the place of the game in Shreveport, I'm not sure that a trip to Vegas to play some spare out of the Pac-10 will be a great draw for the SEC team. Sure, it will be a more attractive proposition than Shreveport, but the added expense will deter some folks from laying out money to go see a mediocre team in a mediocre bowl. On the other hand, if this game were just below the Sugar Bowl (and maybe the Citrus) in the selection order, then maybe you'd have the right combination of a good team, and motivated fan base.

Same, though I only have room for 1 color on my outfit. It isn't bad here, though the stadium is in a less than stellar area - it isn't New Orleans by any means.

I love the idea but the problem is that in most years it will be a bottom dweller team that does not travel well.

Every couple of three years, Auburn or another of the big six will suck and end up there and sell out the game.

But most years it will be a Mississippi,Arkansas, or South Carolina school that draws 15k.

Has a PAC 12 team beaten an SEC team besides Tennessee or Arkansas in the last 10 years?
