Actually, USC and LSU were competing against each other for national championships at one point. So, I see them as quite similar.

Joe was impressed by that Kinko's binder. Big buyout ensued.

Why was Les Miles meeting with Mississippi State coaching staff for 3 days last week?

The name-value alone is huge. LSU is one of the premiere coaching jobs in the country. Always will be.

They attracted the best coach in history at one point, and had he not gone to the NFL, LSU would easily be the top program in the country.

Had some bad luck, but... Won two national championships out of the deal (residual players, etc.), though. Not a total wash.

Yep, that's part of the problem, they have an overinfated opinion of their program due to the anomoly years that Saban started and Miles was able to maintain. That is, until Bama and Saban bitch slapped them back down in 21-0 to their traditional 2nd tier level.

It's the last game of the season. We'll probably have already melted completely by then. Some LSU fans might even be hoping for a loss to A&M to see if Orgeron will be fired. We've seen this all before. It's kind of like Groundhog's Day.

This statement is so fricked up. The best coaches are in bidding wars, they don't just leave their established programs or turn down more money from other big programs. Joe Alleva is fricking awful and the guy may have lucked into buying himself an extension by hitting on Will Wade.
