If you don't think this committee will do everything in its power to assure that this playoff never has more than one SEC team then I think you have your head up your arse.

How about a two loss SEC team with the losses close (OT slugfest, FG hits an upright) and the wins substantial? It's nice that for once one loss is not a killer, just pick up the pieces and win out.

I like it.

Hilarious. The same people you say were against the rematch were the ones that voted FOR a rematch.

Big 10 1 team in
Big 12 1 team in
Pac 12 1 team in
ACC 1 team in
SEC 1 team in.

OK, who is the odd man out? No way SEC gets 2 in.
Tball attitude has come of age. It has to be fair, all should play and get a trophy. Not fair to have 2 teams from SEC because a deserving team would have hurt feelings. I can think of many more "reasons" the committee will use.

You are right about the Big 10. They pushed hard for a selection committee in the four-team system, though.

Well if you're wrong about one thing make up another and see if that sticks...right?

wrong!! The majority did not want the re-match. Only the media did.

Hence the 3rd lowest tv ratings of all the BCS championships - 14.0

I have no problem with 4 conference champions. make every Saturday and conf. champ game count ..If you cant win your conference, too bad!

That is the sole reason for the existence of this committee.

I'm not sure I like the almost irreversible finality that comes with a loss in this new playoff system.

Yeah, I liked the old way better.

Which was the irreversible finality of not even getting a shot if you deserved it at number 3 or 4.

In a 4 team playoff...Georgia would've made it in 07.

1 loss teams made the BCS championship game all the time, the playoff will be full of 1 loss and sometimes 2 loss teams.

with 4 teams in the playoff, you'll see more 2 loss champions

Agreed it will happen at least once a decade going forward.

I think the SEC should separate itself from the NCAA and develop it's own association, turn the sec championship into the national championship, and just have all the sec teams play each other

As I understand it, the committee will have its own poll. Don't know if it will be public or just an internal thing.

If USC wins the rest of their games...guess what?

They go to a crappy bowl if Georgia wins all of its games and is the East representative in the SEC championship game.(of course that would give them a second loss) They would have no shot at the 4 team playoff. (Even if they had beaten A&M last night but lost to Ga.)

There is also the sentiment to make it open to only "conference champions."

None of this had to do with Bama playing LSU again. The people against an SEC rematch in 2011 were in the minority.

LSU fans were opposed, too.

But you're right on one count- this was pushed through to bring the SEC back to the field. The rest of the US wants the national title to be elsewhere, at least half the time.

Not sure if Florida St was enough to ease that anger, as they're probably mistaken for an SEC team by fans from outside the South.

not about rematch ...bama eliminated then everybody else eliminated themselves...even thought bama was the 2nd best team the whole time....
