Bobby P offenses look very little like what they were running at Wisconsin.

Semantics. You were in the shotgun the majority of the time no?

You know what I mean. Pro-style doesn't mean anything any longer anyway really.

And Bielema is going to have a different offense than what he had at Wisconsin

The very fact that the collective sigh of relief from College Station was audible should be alarming.

I'm a Rantard troll, yes. But if you've read my posts on Arky and Briles, you know I'm dead serous. Hell ask your sensible leader Cheshire.

Bielema won more with less at Big 10 using the scraps of Mich, Ohio St, Notre Dame, etc and still won at a 75% clip because he could spot underrated talent and develop them into good football teams. He also surrounded himself with good assts. He never had the resources at Wisky he has at Ark so we have reason to be optimistic he can fare even better at recruiting here.

you keep using that record against big 10 teams but if he beats who he is supposed to here and beats LSU/Bama at a 50% I'll take that in a heartbeat as it will mean consistent 9-10 wins, again, according to your stats.

Not with Mallett when we had a legit o-line. We were under center more often then.

We used a lot more shotgun with Wilson because our line couldn't pass block very well. There was drastically less play action with Wilson which was a huge staple of what we did with Mallett.

You win titles in CFB by having great def. even when Auburn won they had a stout run def and an unblockable dt.

I love how you don't even acknowledge a freak QB and two future top 10 picks on the OL may have played more of a role in Sumlin's "adjustment" than his coaching ability.

get fricking real here, he may adjust just fine but don't bullshite me. also, SEC defenses will adjust, or do u just assume they won't?

The old underrated talent notion. I'm glad to see Bert carry it over from the BP days.

FWIW. I hope you beat LSU and Bama 50% of the time.

Are you sure?

Recall Sherman had those same tackles, a QB drafted in the top 10, and a mid-round RB last year yet he failed miserably -- against a far weaker schedule.

If anything the credit for this year's success points succinctly to Sumlin's "ability."

No, it points to Manziel being an absolute freak

Manziel >>>>>> Tannehill

Sherm was a shitty coach but he left a ton of talent, you even wil acknowledge that.

And I give Sumlin credit but to say he's "adjusted" tv the SEC after one season is short-sighted and premature. Defenses will adjust in this league unlike in C-USA. Petrino won 21 games in his final two seasons but could never beat Bama because he couldn't adjust to Saban. Who's to say the same wont happen to Sumlin with LSU?

I don't think SEC defenses are as wonderful as everyone here thinks. Yep, I said it.

You have 3 maybe 4 really good ones each year. Everyone else? Sorry, nothing all that special.

Briles would have been great at Arky. The main reason he doesn't have decent defense right now is he is at f-ing Baylor. DO you guys really not get how hard it is to win there?

Well then I guess it's good Bielema is getting good recruiters in his staff

And of course Sumlin's offense and his staff has nothing to do with it.

Look, JM's brilliance is undeniable. But Sherman had a QB drafted in the top 10, the same tackles, and plenty of offensive firepower, yet he failed at a level proportional to that of our success this year.

Before I get busy at work again I'm going to look up the 4 year rolling average in recruiting for all the BCS championship teams. I bet it's top 5 on average.

It doesn't matter where you are, if you're near dead last in defense you'll most likely never have a good defense
