McCarron is completing 70 percent of his passes thrown 25 yards or longer this season, an increase of more than 40 percentage points from last season. Play-action has been the key. McCarron is completing 85.7 percent of his 25-yard passes off play-action this season. For his career, two-thirds of his completions on such throws have come off play-action, including two of his career-high three completions last week against Tennessee.
