I think we pretty much ignore that shite. We have a new D scheme, new O Line and a new but experienced starting QB.

Potential is there, but the SEC is still the SEC and Auburn ALWAYS has a hard schedule. LSU, Bama and Georgia every year.

We have a new D scheme

My previous post was more of a generalization of how I feel about the love from the national press.

However, I am confident going into this season that as long as Muschamp fields a serviceable D to go along with JJ at QB passing to more open up AU's already formidable run game that AU will have a great season.

When it comes to this I am more of a nega-tiger and don't like it. This is due AU normally shitting the bed when great things are expected of them. Whereas when everyone discounts the Tigers, they normally kick arse.

It does seem that way - in 2010 I think everyone was waiting for Cam to come back to earth (never happened) and in 2013...I think people considered AU down for the count on way too many occasions that year.

That said, the playoff committee proved similar to the BCS last year in that an early loss is much easier to overcome when you start at the top.

Personally, I'm excited that Bama, AU, and UGA have lofty expectations this year, and we will all get to play each other in the same season. Doesn't happen enough

Traditionally it makes me a little uneasy. But that concept of AU flopping in the face of expectations is really based on pretty limited circumstances, only a little of which impact the present staff.

Last season we did not meet expectations, but I think most of us thought 9-3/10-2 was likely, and without the A&M fluke implosion we would have met that (albeit in a pretty fumbling way).

We should be at least a couple of games better this season, although that doesn't guarantee we'll get those wins. Hopefully we'll get 11-12 wins, but in this conference you can improve and yet fail to see a record difference, either due to bad games or just the advancement of other teams.

I agree. I posted again above that those feelings of mine are a generalization and that I feel like with a serviceable D that AU will tough to beat.

Can OP link this? I don't think I've seen Bama as the favorite anywhere else

When I looked Bama was 825 not 300

Might be a misprint. I didn't get this off of 5Dimes website. I got the info off of AL.com which is a conglomeration of the 3 largest newspapers in the state of Alabama.
