Can't believe no thread for this game yet.

Of course, it is a Thursday, and WatchESPN has crapped the bed, so maybe not many people watching.

Yeah, but I was trying to watch while making jambalaya in the kitchen. Kept having to walk all the way to the living room.

Nice win for Aggies!

BTW...we also got a great basketball grad transfer guard in JC Hampton for all you that missed the news.

This was a huge win. Now, we only need 4-4 in our last 8 SEC games to get a national seed. Still difficult, but very doable.

Apparently we threw bullpen guys today instead of a regular starter.

So I'm surprised and elated we got the W against their stud starter, but it's nice....

Solid win

Yep. Larkins, Vinson, and Ecker. They did a good job of navigating some tough situations...stranded lots of runners.

Childress did a good job of cobbling together the pitching for a win.

Was there a particular reason why Childress rested starters for this game?

Trying new things out?

The normal Friday starter had to pitch on Saturday last week due to postponed game. So, I'm guessing Childress wanted him to get that extra day of rest.

Vines was pulled from the rotation. Larkins was inserted. He started several games last year.

Hill pitching today would mean it was on 2 days less rest. By throwing tomorrow, he's only 1 day short. This means we get our Friday ace going against their Saturday guy with a game lead on the series.

Besides the short rest issues, Vines, who was the number 2 starter, has lost his spot in the rotation, so it just made sense to do the Larkins experiment in game 1. Went fairly well. We might also see Tyler Ivey resurface--he has apparently been battling shoulder issues. The one thing we really need, however, is for Ryan Hendrix to find it again. If he does, a bullpen with Hendrix, Ecker, and Vinson in form would be very formidable.

Congrats on the win Aggies, however we hope Vandy can pull out the win tonight and tomorrow and that my bulldogs can sweep Mizzou to be tied for the lead in the West

GG A&M. Frustrating game for Vandy. 10 LOB and lose on an unearned run on a play on the first pitch of the game. When Jeren's ball was a few inches from leaving the yard and ended up with a double instead, I knew we weren't scoring last night.
