Stafford was only 3 years before leaving early for the draft. And if you wanna get real technical, he didn't start the first 2 games of his TFr year because of senior JoeT (who got hurt in the 1st quarter against SC in game 2). Also, due to Stafford's piss poor performance against colorado that year where Joe Cox came in in the 4th to score 2 TDs and win the game, Cox got the start the next week at ole miss (where he sucked arse, and stafford came in and won the game for us). The rest is history.

I forgot he left early for the draft. There is certainly something to be said for stability at the quarterback position. Find one guy and stick with him.

that's typically what UGA has done under Richt.

Greene for 4 straight years.
Shockley for 1 year (dat SEC title doe)
Stafford for 3 years
Cox for 1 year ( :/ )
Murray for 4 years

Unfortunately, we're going to have another 1 year starter this year in Mason, but after that it'll be another 3 or 4 year guy.

Didn't live up to the hype. He went into his senior year the Heisman front runner then went 7-5 and looked like crap doing it.

quote:

Terrell Pryor, Ohio State

I don't think he ever lived up to the hype he got he did ok in college, helped get the team sanctioned, and has looked piss poor in the NFL. I would put him more in the bust category.

quote:

Ryan Perrilloux, LSU

His play lived up to the hype it was his head and attitude that was a bust.

quote:

Russell Shepard, LSU

Was more of an ATH than QB at LSU so it's hard to rate him a bust when he never played a full series at QB.

Gunner Kiel, Notre Dame

Didn't he transfer to another school? Like a DII school or some place in Illinois.

I don't know if Pryor lived up to the hype, there was a lot of it, but he went 31-4 as a starter and carried them for many of those games. If that is a bust, dayum.

Russell shepard was a bust at no matter what position he played. fact.

I wouldn't put him in the 5 star QB bust category, just put him in the 5 star bust player category. I don't think LSU was ever really planning on using RS as QB.

Tyrod Taylor, what a joke. Sanchez played one year and turned pro. He has proven how much he has lived up to the hype in NY.

So, out of 22 5-star QBs who have completed their careers over this timeframe, 6 were misses.

That's still a 73% hit rate.

R perriloux wasn't a bust talent wise. He just got kicked off the team for getting into trouble. He was a back up to Eli manning.
