This isnt true. LSU didnt want him. He was old news. Definitely upgraded after he left. LOL #3RDANDCHAVIS

Chavis is an elite DC.
I was sad to see him go, then i saw our last 2 signing classes...

Now all the 5 stars in the world won't give Steele a top D, but I'm hoping aranda can be the best of both worlds.

If you get Chavis the players though it'll be hard to find a better D. If...

-You have 1 defender over a 90 composite on 247 right now to go along with 4 signees last year.
-LSU has 3 defenders over a 90 composite right now to go along with 12 signees from last class

I hope you don't believe our offense was anywhere near there.

I was at the game and holding Ole Miss 15 points below avg at home was great for Chavis. Not much more you could expect from him.

Did I accidentally advocate Dave Wommack's inclusion on the list? Our defense didn't adjust well at times, and our DB's occasionally looked lost last year. That defense still held the mighty Aggie offense to a field goal, and the stout Aggie defense, coached by the the best coordinator in the conference, must've been trying to lull Ole Miss into a false sense of security when they let us win by 20...

our offense mightily sucked and the defense caused chad kelly to have the worst game of his season as well as ole miss' 2nd lowest point total.

I really shouldn't have had to /s the adjectives "mighty" and "stout." And I guess you forgot about us dropping a combined 149 points on inferior competition during our first two games, but I'm not sure holding an opponent to less than their home average really means that much when the margin of victory is nearly three TD's. Like, if a team were to lose to Oregon 40-3 in Eugene, does it really matter that Oregon didn't drop 60?

He does wonders against teams that can't run the ball............108th ranked rushing D... plays LSU,Bama,,and Arkansas.........Statistically Aggie won't finish in the top 3 in the West for total D.

List is shite. Hell Kevin Steele finished with a higher ranked D last year.

He is elite when he has nfl players littered in his defense.

Kevin Steele's D allowed more points per game than Chavis. In conference and as a whole.

Hard to argue this. Defense was hardly y'alls problem last year.

I have no problem with this list. We can reevaluate at the end of the season.

Also keep in mind that chavis' best defenses at LSU were with guys he didn't recruit. Once the front seven guys before his time left you saw a major decline in defense. A&M started with no talent so I wonder how this will go lol

And still finished 26 spots ahead of Chavis...............and yes LSUs D wasn't up to par, thanks to NO Depth.....thanks to Chavis.

All that has changed my friend.

So Mel Tucker goes from being Alabama's DB coach to the 2nd best D coordinator in the SEC without ever actually being a coordinator in college football. LOL

Arranda at 3? Yes he was a coordinator but not in the SEC. All the potential is there but he has to prove it in games.
