Switch Georgia and Florida and Tennessee and Kentucky and it works beautifully.
ETA: Also, doing a match rotating pod system would work better. For instance, pod A & C are matched for two years and they would switch to other pod partners for two years and the two winner from the matchup play in the SEC title game.

If you switch Tennessee and Kentucky, they either don't play Vanderbilt under this system or the Tennessee/Florida game isn't protected.
The Georgia/Florida switch works because you can then make the DSOR protected.

UF / Auburn are rivals. Both school's fans would like to play yearly again.

You need a SEC history lesson
UK + UT + VU is almost a given in any pod discussion

You had me at pod. I remember reading a breakdown/suggestion of the pod system a few years ago and it is so much better than the current system, especially as it relates to frequency of interaction between teams.

You could always suggest an alternative.
Mine was the best guess as geographically possible.

This would be tough sledding for UGA. Kentucky might as well give up football.

4 Divisions:
West:
aTm
MiZZOU
Arkansas
LSU
Antebellum:
Ole Miss
MSU
AU
Bama
Appalachian:
VU
UK
UT
UNC
Atlantic:
NCSU
USCe
UGA
UF
Per your scenario...
3 within Division
1-2 permanent cross-pod rivals
3-4 others
UNC/NCSU could be a permanent rival match-up, as could UT/Bama, UGA/AU, LSU/UF etc...
