Guys who already signed, then transferred, will still be part of the recruiting class. I don't think the recruiting services will back those guys out, so someone would have to do the math to figure out Bama's true class ranking.

247 has a class calculator tool: 2024 Alabama Football Class Calculator

ETA: I think Bama's '24 class is at 291.15 with 24 commits, which puts them at #4?

That just shows you times have changed. Players now go to school for the coach. As old guy seems like players were more loyal to the school than they are now.

Some are impact players and some are not.

The more significant issue since Saban's retirement lies in the fact that 7 out of the 10 recruits of the 2025 Alabama recruitment class have decommitted.

All that work and built up trust has gone up in flames.

Any good recruiter from another program can have a field day with this collapse.

Part of that is that players used to be from the same state as the school or at least in the region.

It would have been interesting to see what it would have been like if we always had had immediate eligibility.

I'd speculate that the head coach mattered back then to a great degree... but it wasn't worth sitting out a year.
