I disagree. I think there significant differences between the quality of some teams. I think you can "tier" the division as follows:

Tier I: Alabama
Tier II: Auburn, LSU
Tier III: Ole Miss
Tier IV: Arkansas
Tier V: Mississippi State, Texas A&M

Every team can win eight plus games, I feel. The margins are low from tiers III to V but there is a significant talent jump from II to III.

You really think there is significant differences in these teams? I just don't see it.

EDIT: Misread what you posted.

UT having a 5X better shot than Mizzou?

Mizzou has been one of the easiest bets the past 2 years. We are like 24-4 ATS or something like that.

I don't see how people aren't more impressed with Arkansas out of that bunch. They're Arkansas so I'm prepared for them to falter, but I'd put them above that pack.

I can think of 17 reasons why LSU is not 2 tiers above Arkansas

I think Arkansas and Ole Miss have more depth and talent than A&M and State, yes. Ole Miss returns an entire OL and should have one of the country's best defenses. Arkansas returns arguably the best running game in the nation.

I'm not saying Ole Miss is gonna win 11 and State is gonna win 5

Jeremy Johnson better be good for the amount of hype auburn has built off an 8-5 season.
In my mind, the Will Muschamp hire has more pull than Jeremy Johnson taking over as starting quarterback.

If we are going to use the past as an indicator of the future, I can think of 0 reasons how the Hogs could win the SEC in football

In terms of a "ceiling" and "floor," I have the West as follows:
Alabama - 12, 9
Arkansas - 9, 7
Auburn - 11, 9
LSU - 10, 8
Mississippi State - 9, 7
Ole Miss - 10, 8
Texas A&M - 9, 7

I've never seen a fanbase get so hard over a pointless win. Ok, it was your first SEC win in two years but it was pointless to us. #1 LSU vs #3 Ar Kansas in 2011 is a better measuring stick. 41-17. The irony!

100% wrong. A&M is deeper than Ole Miss at QB, WR, and RB.

I look at it like this. Good for them for winning one like that. We'll play again next year and we'll see what happens. Since then, though, LSU beat their basketball team without its best player in the Meth Dome, and beat their baseball team for about the millionth season in a row.

Auburn 2-1

Way too high. Not that Auburn doesn't have a solid shot, but those odds are absurd.
