Side note. Nick Chubb is +1200 to win the Heisman.

I just took that for $200. Good investment I think.

This is bad. Real bad.

UT having a 5X better shot than Mizzou?
Ole Miss having a better shot than Georgia and 7X better shot than LSU?
Auburn being a 2:1 favorite?

I haven't been more confused by a preseason hype to that of Auburns since '09 Ole Miss.

I support Chubb in the Fournette - Chubb battle, but I have zero confidence in hyped UGA running backs meeting their full potential.

I'll come right out and say it, I don't get the hype. All the talking points about Auburn I think are accurate, but more as a cautious optimism than what I expect. Such as improvement on defense.

I think/hope JJ will be solid but I'm not crowning him as elite yet. He'll be in completely different circumstances as a starter and we can see his hype come back down to earth as the season goes on.

What surprises me most about these is that Auburn isn't hailed as the best thing since sliced bread, but simply that our strengths/outlook stacks up so well against others. It makes me wonder (as someone not super familiar with the ins and outs of every teams) why they're expecting such a dropoff from a team like Alabama. I personally will assume they're the team to beat until we go 2-3 years in a row where they aren't champion.

A) It's Chad Swag AK-47 Kelly

B) He is still far better than any of the shitty quarterbacks y'all are gonna trot out this fall

I agree with the hype. I don't agree with 2-1 SEC odds hype (I know this isn't a serious proposal). The SEC is just too stacked for that clear consensus type of prediction.

Honestly, the only program who gets that treatment, and has earned it, is Alabama under Saban. FWIW I don't think they're really deserving of it this year, but I don't think anyone is.

I'd say the West should look like Alabama as the favorites followed moderately closely by everyone else with no real significant differences.

Tennessee, OM, A&M, Mizzou, and Arky too high.

LSU and UGA too low

I'm optimistic but I'm not writing big checks about what Auburn will and won't do this year. I assume we'll be our normal selves on offense, but I hope we don't really miss a mobile quarterback (Jeremy Johnson is the most limited definition of mobile). Plus depth issues on key areas in defense makes me nervous about injury and/or how we perform against uptempo teams.

I expect to be in contention going into November but I just see too much parity this year to swing a big dick around.

I think it should be AU 1a, UA 1b, followed by Arky/Ole Miss.

Someone tell me why I should care what a non gambling sports website has to say about title odds. Tennessee at 10/1 is hilarious
