LSU beat Auburn in Tiger Stadium, but I'm not sure why that's even being asked.

Look...bottom line with the Sugar Bowl is that it was Coach Saban's finest performance yet. He understood that the game was meaningless, but also that is was important to walk the fine line of coming out strong and shaking off the cobwebs (check) but also keeping motivation for the younger players going into the offseason (check).

Coach Saban understands you sometimes need to take a step back in order to take two steps forward. He is thinking big picture, and needed to keep the players hungry during the off season.

I'm not saying they "threw" the game, but I think it's pretty clear Coach Saban and the team leaders knew what was best in the long run.
