LSU @ A&M confirmed for Thanksgiving 2014.

So do you LSU fans like or dislike playing on Thanksgiving day? If Bama had to play on Thanksgiving day, I think I'd be kind of ticked off about it. At least it appears that it won't be on Thanksgiving day when LSU is the home team.

13 was supposed to be the anomaly for the UGA game in AU again, 14' is supposed to be back to normal. I am pretty sure it also relates to the other part of UGA's schedule as the reason for the change, not AU's FWIW. I read the reasoning a while back, can't seem to find it again

Yep, that's what LSU said about playing on Thanksgiving.

I would think LSU and A&M aren't forced to play on Thanksgiving. I don't know why they couldn't just choose to play on that Saturday.

Regardless, LSU griping over playing on Thanksgiving =/= UGA and UF's gripes about possibly having to give up one of the great traditions in college football

I hate it. Thanksgiving is for NFL. College football is played on Saturday nights, and the A&M game should be in September, where it always was.

Don't even try to argue with LSU fans about anything relating to traditions. They don't comprehend what those are.

They didn't.

LSU has been adamently opposed to playing on Thanksgiving from Day 1, and they have been public about that. Apparently the SEC office couldn't add the Ravens and 49ers to LSU's cross-divional oppenents, they decided to stick us on Thanksgiving. Maybe this year we can go 11-1 and earn an invite to the Liberty Bowl.

Are you insinuating that A&M Thanksgiving game is a great tradition in college football?!?!!?

LSU fans you might hate this idea now. But give it a few years and you will come to like it. I for one am excited about this because my family is basic 50/50 Aggies and Tigers so being able to watch the games with everyone as a family will be very enjoyable and hopefully a tradition future Tiger/Aggie generations will look forward to, just as us younger Aggies did with the Longhorn game.

Just give it a chance. Besides... we are awful and have no chance of ever beating you guys... so why would you not want to play us while people are off work and able to watch you DESTROY us every year.

Texas A&M was willing to give up their game with Texas every year, and that game was way bigger than Alabama-Tennessee ever has been.

Our tradition is Saturday night games in Death Valley, and the SEC has shown it does not care about those, so why should we give a shite about anyone else's 'traditions'?

The SEC office doesnt determine which days it is played on, the networks and schools do. the SEC only determines the weeks the games are played. Your school set up a deal, to make money with the network, and play on thursday.

Just like when the iron bowl was forced to move to the week of thanksgiving because all the other schools bitched about us playing before thanksgiving. We chose at first to play on friday, and setup a contract with the network. then they decided not to renew the contract and move the game back to saturday. The SEC has/had nothing to do with it.

So terribly misinformed. We actually tried to KEEP the game vs Texas as a yearly thing. Texas declined.

to move to another conference because they were being treated unfairly. If LSU feels the same way, move along

How many years did Texas and aTm play on Thanksgiving? Also, there were several years where the Iron Bowl was on Thanksgiving, as was the Georgia/Georgia Tech game I believe.

False, LSU doesn't care about playing on Thanksgiving night and competing with the NFL for viewers.

Wow, this makes it all worth it now. 3andOut has family split between LSU/A&M. Well my family is split between LSU and Southern Miss fans. So we don't care anything about an Aggie. You know that there are tens of thousands of people that actually attend the games. This is who the game affects, not you and your family that like to watch the games on tv.

I won't mind it if it guarantees us a permanent Saturday night game when it's @ tiger stadium.

Thanksgiving is a boring arse Holliday, it'll be a nice change every other year to have something to care about on that day now! ....

Depends on who LSU and A&M play before that game. Fri was a short week and now it just got shorter. If LSU is stuck with a conf game and A&M gets a bye or non conf I will be pissed!

Cue the whiners if LSU makes conf title game and has two extra days off going up against UGA, Fla or USC playing against rivalry games. I'm sure Richt will start whining now.
