Jennings isn't a sure thing to start next year LSU will have Jennings, Rettig, Rivers, Bolden, and Harris 3 of those had a 4* or better ranking coming out of HS

Magee averaged 7.3 yards per carry. He is solid and will be a very good counterpart to #BugaNation.

Defense is gonna be much improved. Our recruiting class is gonna fill holes (#2 and 3 S and #1 OLB). Clifton Garrett will likely start at OLB but he is a beast.

We lost a ton of wide receivers, but we do get a lot of talent in at that position too.

While I hate to rely on Freshman, we will play some this year and I think they perform well.

The pieces coming back should be pretty good.If we keep Collins on the OL at LSU, then we return 4 of 5 starters on a line that performed pretty well. I see LSU reverting to a run first offense, and I think LSU fans are okay with that seeing our roster.

Every RB had a good year, Hilliard and Blue both averaged over 4.5 YPC as well. That is a testament to the strength of that offensive line, if Collins were to leave as well those numbers probably drop a bit more. I think they will already drop as teams stack the box against LSU next year but losing 2 experienced offensive lineman would hurt more

It's different because our presumed starting QB next year has starting experience against a top 10 defense.

Neighbors was actually LSU's starting FB. Him and JC rotated but, Neighbors was the starter.

LSU's starting LBs were Welter in the middle and Barrow and Kwon on the outside. T Jones didn't see much PT on "D".

LSU loses A. Johnson at DT....is Rasco leaving?

You guys have enough Off losses that it will be another ok...not great season...9-3 maybe UF is at the Swamp and go ahead and put it down...loss.

Don't make too much fun of that cause I will be back to razz everyones azz about it. Don't make the mistake of thinking UF was a 4-8 team without all those injuries.

Rasco is staying. The only early losses on "D" are the two starting DTs, Freak and Ego.

Considering that OBJ and Juice were non factors in the game last year I expect tigers to win again just pounding the gators with Magee, Hilliard and Fournette.

Who was out due to injuries when gators visited death valley last year?

2014 LSU

If were somehow to beat Wiscy in Houston to open the season, we may start out 5-0 or even 6-0.
After that it gets tough.
Most difficult games will be Bama, @ Auburn, and @ A&M. Ole Miss and Fla will be no picnic either.

I'd be very happy with 11-2 but it may not be possible unless our offense proves itself.

Since defenses will probably stack the box against the run until Jennings/Rettig prove they can throw, I think our offense will actually pass to SET UP the run. Cam is great at that.
And run we will, with a STACKED O-line and Magee, Hilliard and bama legacy Neighbors returning - until studs Fournette and Williams get going.

If Dural, Quinn, and hopefully Dupre if he signs, along with Desean Smith - we will have a decent, if young WR corps.

On defense, we came on strong the second half of last season, holding A&M to ONE TOUCHDOWN (they scored SIX on mighty Bama.)
Our LBs and Secondary will be very talented, the DLine will be young but has great potential.

Kicking game is in good hands with Delahoussaye, Hairston and Aussie Keehn, and we will have our usual very good return game (if we can learn not to clip !!!)...

That should count as at least two wins.

Let me add that I wouldn't be shocked to see LSU have a 1000+ yard rusher....

.....in Magee. Don't be fooled- he's good.

We will be solid at:
RB (returning 2 good backs, not to mention #buganation)
OLine (return everyone but Turner who will be easily replaced with Pocic IMO)
DBs (2 of the top 3 Freshman corners in the SEC returning, Jefferson was very good at the end of last year, I think Mills makes the permanent switch to Safety where he looked great in the Cap 1 Bowl, and maybe Ed Paris/Dwayne Thomas at the Nickle spot)
OLB (I think Barrow and Tahj Jones leaving may be addition by subtraction, Kwon Alexander and Deion Jones will both be very good and VERY fast)

We will struggle at:
DT (return very few players with meaningful snaps, had a bunch of "studs" in the 2013 recruiting class on the Dline, but none really ever played. However LaCoutre will be very good)
WR (We NEED to land Dupre. either that or some of the guys down on our depth chart this last year need to come along. With a new QB he needs some help out there)

The questions that will define our season:
How good can Jennings be?
We don't need him to light the world on fire, but he must stretch the field vertically to prevent defenses from stacking the box, he must learn how to make quicker decisions, he cannot take sacks, and he has to limit turnovers. LSU will be VERY good this year if Jennings can limit mistakes, hit on some deep balls, and avoid 3rd and long

Will LSU find a legit passrushing threat?
We win the Ole Miss and UGA games last year if we have a decent passrusher. Currently it seems like all our DE are huge guys that stuff the run, but they cannot put a finger on the QBs. Hopefully Beckwith can step up and be that guy on 3rd downs, or one of the other FR on last years team. Your corners are incredible, but even great corners get beat if the QB has all day.

Who will be the MLB?
DJ Welter was abysmal last year. Seemed like he was constantly chasing people that were faster than him and getting blocked by guys he couldn't get off of. We are breaking in some new DTs so unless we want to get gashed up the middle all year we need a MLB to step up. Can Clifton Garrett come in as a very highly touted Freshman and win the starting spot? I sure as hell hope so because what we have now isn't working.
