We don't need to go to 2010 team to beat the 2004 USC team. We could have done it with our 2004 team just as easily.

I would say yes. What makes you ask that?

That's funny. 2004 Southern Cal would have beaten Auburn by 30.

I wish they'd played them instead of Oklahoma, so we could have all enjoyed watching them skulldrag Auburn around the field.

I agree here. USC had close calls with Cal and Va Tech, and beat a 6-6 Stanford team by just 3 points

Honestly, 2004 Auburn hangs with USCw but not sure we win.

Strangely, 2010 Auburn probably beats USCw somehow, but is not as solid a team as 2004 Auburn

2010 Auburn honestly would have stood a much better chance. Cam was fisking unstoppable and it would have likely ended up like the 2005 title game with Texas.

2004 Auburn wasn't even remotely in the same class as 2004 Southern Cal. They were out manned at every position on the field.

Your memory is poor just like your ability to understand how football works.

2004 Auburn had a beast of a defense and a very capable offense. We would have given USC all they could handle and would have had a chance to win. More of a chance than the OU squad that was blown out.

My memory is just fine.

Auburn had a good defense, Southern Cal had one just as good.

Auburn would have stood a better chance, they'd have only lost by 30...not 40.

There's a reason that 2004 Southern Cal is talked about as one of the best teams of all time.

2004 Auburn probably had just as many guys go on to solid NFL careers as that USC squad did, not saying we win but there was plenty of talent.

Isn't the 2004 Auburn team made up of the same players from the 2003 team that USC smoked the year before?

Some yes, Auburn had some very talented guys on that squad, no doubt about it. But it's not even close. 30 members of that Southern Cal team got drafted.

Seriously, a third of the team. Even Bama's 2009 team which was ridiculously talented across the board doesn't approach that.

I said "Could have" beaten, not would have, you illiterate backwater frick.

Alabama had an insane amount of talent in 2015 and something like 4-5 straight #1 recruiting classes, and very well "could have" lost to Clemson.

Pretty much, and it was at Auburn. I do think Auburn improved a lot from 2003, but so did Southern Cal.
