I can remember cheering for LSU, because they gave hope to all the little guys in the conference.

That 2001 UF team was awesome. They drilled us in front of college gameday when we had a pretty decent squad. Maybe Spurrier was the reason yall had some let downs that year when you were clearly the better team. I saw that happen far too often at USC under his watch.

Isn't that the same year that the Big 12 Champion sodomized one of the teams in the national title game with a 2x4, a team that didn't even come close to winning its own division?

What about Kansas State over Oklahoma in 2003?

True, except Oklahoma still got to play for the title.

2001 truly was an ODD year for sure.

LSU wins first SEC title in forever.

Oregon football was officially born.

Maryland wins first ACC title since the 80s.

Illinois wins first Big Ten title since the 80s.

Despite Texas and Oklahoma as better teams, Colorado wins Big XII title; their first outright conference title since 1990.

Perhaps the death of Vols football was how 2001 ended for them. Same for UF under Spurrier, and how LSU football was born into the Saban and Miles era.

They had some good teams in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007, but 2001 was the last year they were relevant in the national title picture.

If Texas was a better team, they wouldn't have lost to Colorado in the title game...and you can't seriously make that claim after what Colorado did to Nebraska that year.

Who the frick keeps making these OU accounts

It's not surprising in the least. OU has the biggest SEC inferiority complex by far, you ought to hear the radio up here in OKC. It's comedy gold daily.
