Rushing Yards by Hogs

LA Lafayette - 272
Samford - 333
Southern Miss - 258
Rutgers - 101

1. How many yards do you think Arkansas rushes for vs A&M?

2. How many yards do you think Arkansas needs to rush for to be in position to win the game?

I will go first:

Q1 - 230 yards
Q2 - Arkansas needs about 340 yards on the ground (and no fumbles)

Did you know Arkansas averaged 118 rushing yards per game last season?

1. 275

2. Rushing doesn't really matter. They need to pass the Ball alot to win.

I agree they need to pass the ball effectively. Also need to eat some clock up and that is why I think they need to run the ball pretty well.

Going from facing a top 25 defense to a bottom 25 defense may be the edge needed for Derby.

the more interesting question is how many passing yards do that need to win?.... derby's gotta be efficient for them to have a shot. If ark can pass the 200 yard passing mark, they'll have a chance.

Seriously, the bigger question is how you are going to stop us from running the ball, Rice rushed for over 300 yards and you do not have a top 5 rushing defense like Rutgers...

I agree. I just don't see any way Arkansas keeps up with A&M's scoring with Arkansas' one dimensional offense.

Like hell it doesn't. Running the ball effectively is exactly what will keep JFF off the field.

A&M played 17 true freshman vs Rice, mostly on defense. Young defense and they are improving. Not a good defense at all but getting better.

When Manziel played in the 3Q, Ags controlled the ball and Rice did not score. Rice scored 10 total points in second half (all in 4th Q). Over 100 of their rushing yards came in the 4th Q.

I expect Ags to load the box and force Arkansas to throw. Something most running teams don't really like to do. I am pretty sure Arkansas is no different.

Have you considered that maybe Bama is having a down year on the defensive side of the ball considering what all they have had to replace on that side?

I mean, I get it, they own Tennessee, but people aren't thumping Ole Miss' chest for beating Vandy.

We have no problem tossing the ole pigskin, its the fans that have a problem with Derby passing the ball.

The hogs won three games last year. It looks like that is going to be the case this year too.

I feel your pain, we've never been the worst team in the SEC, so I can't relate exactly, but we've been very close.

No they didn't.

They did win twice as many SEC games as Tennessee, however.
