Enh, no one likes to lose to a conference rival so that one is easy to answer. Beating LSU will be a big deal, but that is because LSU is still a quality team. It won't be near the biggest game the Aggies have won.

You aren't Texas.

Give it a couple of years and the Aggies will start to get the itch to whip the Longhorns again. A mediocre season that includes a win over the whorns will start to seem more desirable then a good season without that win.

Beating Texas is the ultimate SWC addiction. Trolling LSU doesn't even come close. You guys aren't their Superbowl as long as that university in Austin has a football team.

You having the flaming bag of Chavis part nailed. Chavis will not make the difference Aggies think. Corey Raymond is the reason our secondary is lights out. You will improve in LB play, uhhhmmmm, insert DJ Welter, but your secondary will play soft especially on 3rd downs

So you're saying we need to hire Raymond next season? Done.

I keep seeing this line get parroted over and over.

What EXACTLY do we think?

I mean, most Aggies on here have a pretty conservative prediction for our post Chavis defense (IE "it will be better.") I haven't seen any that said we were going to be this defensive powerhouse that wasn't a troll.

Honestly I think LSU fans are let down that we AREN'T expecting more out of Chavis and therefore they are projecting those expectations onto us.

It just KILLS yall that we will spend that much money for just a little improvement when yall didn't think it was worth spending the same money to keep the SEC's best defensive coaching unit intact. Just like it kills yall that we pay Sumlin $5 million when many Tiger fans think Les doesn't earn his smaller salary with a much better CV.

#1 After their offseason championship, how bad will it be for them if they STILL lose to LSU next season? On it's face, you wouldn't think it to be possible for aggies to be any more obsessed with LSU than they already are, but I have a hunch they have yet another gear that we have yet to see. Scary.

#2 When aggie FINALLY does beat LSU, be in 2015 or 2035 (most likely closer to the latter), will it be the biggest win in aggie football history?

1. You're not our super bowl, but we're yours.

Yet ANOTHER LSU post about A&Ms obsession with LSU.

More to your point, how could A&M beating a 4 loss team in 2015 be a " our biggest win"?? That makes no sense at all.

Value is always relative.

Is it $1.5 million dollars better in Louisiana where national title winning coaches don't even make $5 million a year? Probably not.

Is it $1.5 million dollars better in Texas where the top two coaching jobs pay out $5 million a year even though NEITHER of the men in those positions have won a national title as a head coach? Probably so.

It isn't that hard to grasp.

Just like Alabama broke your hearts and LSU mailed in the season afterwards (17-0 loss to Arky the following week).

Don't even try that

Last time I checked Forbes had LSU in top 5. Money wasn't the issue. According to a few people in the AD it was his recruiting and lack there of. If he had gotten off his butt more he probably would have gotten everything he wanted but when confronted about it his ego got in the way and A&M ends up with a new DC

If you don't know who your daddy is then that's just a sad story. You should find a support group for orphaned children

Try what? Value is relative to a culture.

I have seen Tiger Fans say that Les is overpaid. He would be underpaid in Texas, that is a fact. That Forbes list doesn't compare cultures, just bottom lines.

The data backs up my point- households in Louisiana make less on average so it would make sense money has a greater value there. We are both below the national average, but we are a few thousand bucks away while you are almost ten thousand dollars away:

Hence $1.5 million is worth less in Texas relatively.

What the AD thinks can be afforded is not the same as what fans think should be paid.

1) Ole Miss was undefeated when LSU beat them.

2) If beating Ole Miss was no big accomplishment, then why couldn't Bama do it?

Households in any state do not make that much of a difference in a program. It is the boosters and LSU has that now. The LSU of old is no more as far as boosters.

As far as culture, coaches pay is based off of SEC culture and National averages not which state you live in

That is absurd
As far as Miles being over paid, at some point he had a clause in his contract that if he wins a NC he would make 1$ more a year than Saban. It is his own fault he has not gotten a raise
