17-20 looks great compared to Lane's. Maybe next year you guys will get somebody with a winning record

17-20 >>> 5-19

We're not complaining now...sit back and let the guy do his job.

I don't really think there was much other choice. Everyone else turned you down and you had to have a coach. Dooley could be good, then again, he could fall on his face.

Derek Dooley is a solid coach...

Might I add it is in a bad conference.

If Petrino is gonna catch flack for going 41-9 at Louisiville, DD deserves some too w/ 17-20

Have you ever been to Ruston? Unless you're super baptist, there is nothing in that town. It was a dry county not that long ago. It's a good school, but try getting athletes to go there, it's not easy

I think this is good for all of the Vol fans out there. They will be negative and not cocky. They won't expect a great season so the only way ya'll can go from here is up. I, for one, think he will get the job done in a respectable fashion. He will do just as good, if not better, than Kiffin but most people won't absolutely hate him like they did Kiffin.

What is with you Arky fans needing a constant pat on the head in regards to Petrino? I haven't seen anyone question the guy's coaching ability...most everyone just thinks he's a jackass.

Dooley is the diamond in the rough. He'll be a good coach. When he was the SpecTeams coach at LSU everyone was saying that. Young guy. He'll be special.

I like Dooley and think he is in store for good things. I just hope he is not jumping into the big time too quick.

Ruston is like Starkville. Only worse.

The people there have a very high opinion of themselves. There is a lot of money in the town. A lot. Which probably accounts for the attitude.

So it isn't like Starkville?

Well most said he sucked because he only did good in a bad conference. So if Petrino took heat for it, so should other coaches in the same boat.

That said, worked out well for us so far

Like Starkville in the sense that it is unattractive to recruits and that there is little to do there.

I think Mike Hamilton should be out of a job regardless of who he lands...but Dooley will do a great job at UT imho.

I think crowton had a better record and a win over an SEC team.

why didn't he get a call from UT?

I guess I missed those posts. The only things I've ever seen him catch flack for was the jetgate debacle, applying for 43 other jobs while at Louisville, and the midnight train out of Georgia
