Also remarkable would be a coach who has never had a losing record at any time in his entire career, spanning 6 seasons as a college HC, 6 seasons as a college OC, and 14 seasons as a high school HC.
How many championships?

what a horse shite thread! I liked the one about the teams who'd beaten the most SEC teams since 2013 better.

I can't be the only one that thinks building a football stadium/cemetary combo plot was a stupid idea, right? Wtf is that all about, Bammers? ConfederATE cEMETARY OR SOMETHING?

Ask the guys on the teams that they beat who won the game and I'll bet they could you.

So do you consider the only unbeaten team in 1993 National Champions? That team is Auburn in case you didnt know.
No. Because the AP could have just as easily picked Auburn as their national champion in '93. Instead they picked Florida State and placed Auburn at #4 to finish the season.
A similar thing happened to Alabama in '66. They went 11-0, were the only undefeated and untied team in the country at the end of the year, were national champs in '64 and '65, yet finished #3 in '66.

So then UF has won 11 SEC titles on the field?
Yes...they do. If you want to claim 11 SEC titles there is nothing preventing me from stopping you. The fact of the matter is, you won those on the field. Sure...you may have won them by cheating, but there are plenty of teams who have cheated that never won anything. Take 2013-2016 Ole Miss.

After 11 games Auburn was not the only undefeated team in 1993. Pretty good odds if Aubie had to play in the SEC Championship or a Bowl game they would not have finished the season undefeated.

You assholes got no problem claiming 1941 when you lost to MS State and they finished the regular season with a better record than UA just because some podunk magazine claimed you were NC.
Too bad the Bear isn't still around. He wouldn't let Bama claim any of those BS titles y'all claim. Bama really didn't start pushing the issue of number of titles until they were on probation and sucking arse and it was the only thing they had to hang their hat on. Total fricking publicity stunt by the SI office at the school.

I do have a problem with it actually. There is absolutely no good reason for us to claim 1941. A majority of Alabama fans who are informed on the subject will agree with me.

A total publicity stunt? Perhaps you should start reading up on that time. All the major schools were inflating their trophy cases with national championships from the pre-poll era. Hell...USC just added 1939 to their trophy case about 15 years back.

So why didn't y'all claim 1945 or 1966 instead?

I don't know. I was not around in 1983 when that decision was made. 1945 has a better claim than 1966, however, because it was before the Coaches Poll and before the AP had become one of the de facto major selectors.

Mac was at one of the worst schools in the FBS....kind of a forgivable losing season there.
